Horrid uncompliant company. They won't replace out of code ancient lines, poles, and fuse sets. They make customers deal with constant lengthy outages because they are too cheap to replace their old legacy out of date infrastructure. Plus, they raise prices across the board over $100-$200 per customer and still don't upgrade the customers infrastructure. Duke just plain sucks as a company as a whole. Almost 10k technicians "" working right here, and 9 hrs after losing power still no tech assigned, nor even an assessment has been sent out for assignment....just nothing! Just a plain horrid company. All Duke is about, is how much money they can rape out of the customer and leave them in the dark. Who cares about the danger, Duke sure doesn't. They will install 100s of millions in new infrastructure on companies that are over 2 years from even breaking ground, charge us for the upgrades that we dont have access to and leave long time existing customers not even a mile away to deal will constant outages that last 10-72 hrs, in 130°+ heat all from a heavy downpour or because it's a blustery day. All the contractors that Duke sends, every last one of them, says the infrastructure is completely out of code, and half of them refuse to work on it, even to just restore power, so it takes a million years for them to get someone to actually take their life in their hands and wallet to restore the power here. Duke techs refuse to work on it because they know it's out of code, and they don't want to be held liable by their own employer. This outage this time has cost me over $300 thus far plus broken glass. I get to clean up and an injured eye......Yet we still have to pay for horrid service and no electricity.
Thanks Duke Energy for being a money grubbing horrible company.

I understand a lot of people lost their power during the hurricane like we did. When I called to report the outage I was told that we were one of nearly 1400 people in my neighborhood without power but they were sending out crews & would get to it as soon as they could. Now I can’t say if it was Duke Energy or one of the many companies that were good enough to send crews to Florida to help the state get back on track. Anyway we were lucky enough to have our power turned back on twenty four hours after we lost power. Which was a relief because my father is on oxygen twenty four hours a day seven days a week but they didn’t know this & we were still fortunate enough to have our power back so quickly. So to all the man & women who either work for Duke Energy or one of the many companies that were kind enough to send us there crews to repair the storm damage I THANK YOU ALL FOR CARING ENOUGH TO COME TO OUR AID AND HELPING THE CITIZENS OF FLORIDA GET THERE LIVES TOGETHER.
God bless you all

Customer service is terrible. They say one thing, and ends up being another. Managers clearly have no “authority” to do anything about anything. Their so called “services” “extensions/split payments” services are bullshit. They actually cause more of a headache than it’s worth dealing with. -10 would be my response.
I miss the east side of Florida and I RATHER GO BACK TO HAVING “FPL” honestly.
These electric services in central Fl suck.

Duke-Energy is truly ripping off the residents of Marion County. Over $418.00 (one month electric, for a small 3 bedroom home) They have to be reported, this is out of hand!

We are on a three year vegetation clean up it's been six years now. They show up they look at the mess they sit around on their phones for two hours. Then leave. Now, my power has gone off twice in the last two days. They suck But the repair men and women are terrific

Ok this is utterly ridiculous. We just got power after being out over 24 hrs with Debbie. Literally 3 hours after they restored the power. It's out again and sounds like another transformer blew up again. Come on Duke Energy. You send for help and these contractors rush to do there job so they can get to the next outage and leave stuff undone. My dad has heart issues. My neighbor just had a triple bypass and now we have to suffer without power again. On top of that I work from home and now I have to use my leave. Are you going to reimburse me. Now we are scrambling again just to get the generator hooked up again just so we don't lose all our food. This really sucks in the worse way. Do freaking better Duke energy with your help!!!!
Signed Angry Customers with medical conditions!!!

Plus the bills are out of this world. Overcharging us and we don't even have power. I pray nothing happens to my parents or my neighbors.

Horrible. We have a sparking transformer by a bunch of downed trees in a heavily wooded area-- AN URGENT HAZARD. When called to report they basically said they'll get to it when they get to it and that it might be days. Horrible company who leaves their customers in danger and in the dark!

Go up
