I trusted Duke Energy to perform work near my field in Haines City, Florida, after being assured by their Senior Engineer, Michael Dobbs, that there would be no damage. Despite my warnings about the unsuitable terrain, on March 11, 2023, I discovered that my gate was cut and my field was destroyed by their machinery.

This negligence forced me to close my business(RJ HINSON SPORTS), relocate, and endure significant financial losses. Although Duke Energy initially promised to resolve the issue, they have failed to take responsibility or offer compensation. Their lack of accountability has caused immense frustration and stress, making it clear that they do not support small businesses as they claim.

They made a bandaid repair to restore power to our neighborhood after Milton and now, 10/31/24, they’ve shut power off to attempt to actually fix the issue, our power is going to be off for 5 hours because the company is too incompetent to repair it right the first time. After hurricane Milton I watched 8 trucks pull down my neighborhood. When I walked down to see the progress being made, there were only 3 guys working and the other 10 guys that were there were simply standing around and chatting with one another while listening to music.

What an absolute joke of a company. There was no warning for this repair and it’s going to take several hours and potentially cost me the food in my fridge.

Thanks for being useless, Duke Energy!

I’ve always had a problem with Duke. It’s just the areas I always live in. That’s the main provider. They’re always late with stuff, but when it comes to taking your money, they do that and some everyone always says that they’re the worst and the laziest if I had another choice, definitely wouldn’t have them, I’m in Florida. I’m sure they get a lot of calls and really busy but as soon as someone hears I have Duke they’re like oh yeah you aren’t getting power for a while . They told me I wouldn’t have power for one or two hours, but definitely today that was 9:30 am It is 12am next day And still nothing I haven’t seen one truck drive-by

Yet we have been out of power for 12 HOURS!!!
We are located a stones throw from Duke Longwood. Instead of them doing something, they are using the "hurricane" as an excuse to not do anything. DiDisgusting and sickening.

Where are you! We call Duke and it says "20 people affected" lmao. Do your job!!!
Is Duke paying for our fridge if food that has to be thrown out?

The WORST. My husband took a deep breath out and our electric went out. I think they turn it off on purpose. You owe our neighborhood groceries!!!! Every year half our neighborhood loses power and they make us wait days to restore. We are right around the corner. Duke needs a competitor!!!!!

Power goes out all the time at Alta Cypress apartments. Duke Energy takes forever to restore and never knows the reason when you call to report the outage. Do better Duke Energy. The people rely on their power working.

Some idiot knocked on my door claiming to be partners with Duke and wanted to sell me solar panels. Are you kidding me? What a scam! Anyone who buy solar panels is lacking a brain and didn't do their research on the cost, damage to the roof and structure, insurance, and fire issues that solar panels cause.

I have been having power issues for many years now and Duke refuses to address it. I've had multiple linemen tell me that the main issue is the mile or so of trees on my street growing through and touching their lines. After I had one of these branches fall and almost bring a sparking line down on me, I requested they perform tree service on their right of way. After 10 days they came by and lazily refused to do any work. The frequent power brown outs caused by these trees have ruined an Xbox, three cable boxes, two modems, and my AC. Duke doesn't care.
