I wrote a review last year about customer service and the application of the product. This is a follow up review concerning the utility of Ecobond on a porch floor. Last summer, we repainted our front porch. We had lead-based paint on all surfaces (posts, rails, steps, and floor) and were concerned about stripping or simply painting over it. Numerous reviews suggested that Ecobond would be great for the posts and rails, but because the product was not rated for floors, everyone was tentative about that application. We decided to give it a shot. We put one coat of Lead Defender Pro on the steps and floor and two coats of good porch floor paint over that. We are now almost a year out and everything still looks great. After a year of dogs, firewood, chairs, kids, weather, etc., the floor still looks perfect with no apparent chips or areas of lifting or pealing, even on the high-traffic steps. I am very happy with the product and highly recommend it.

This was a fantastic experience all around. First, the staff was very helpful, explaining the benefits, science and applications of the product. We used Lead Defender Pro on wood exterior window trim. It applied easily and took a top coat of exterior latex paint beautifully. Most importantly, it provided peace-of-mind as we got through the project. It is a great product and company.

We hired a painter to update our kitchen cabinets plus paint our kitchen and bathroom walls. In the process he found that lead based paint had been used on the cabinets and walls. I was involved in the research end of trying to find a product to deal with the lead. The staff and postings ware very informative, plus the President of the company did a follow up call to a make sure that my questions had been answered. Our painter found the paint very easy to apply and living in the house at the same time, I found the smell to be minimal. So, in a nutshell, we are very satisfied customers.

Great product only thing is it doesn't spray the easiest lot of clogs something in the paint doesn't dissolve all the way. We mixed and mixed and still no matter what it kept clogging. Changed to 5 star because probably my fault using the wrong too size . And I really have had great experiences with the product I've used it in many different places and it covers great and cost is equivalent to a quality paint which I believe this is.

I used ECOBOND on a stairwell wall that tested positive for lead paint. I only needed one coat, but used two because I didn't want to paint again. Flat white was exactly what was needed. After a thorough mix, it was easy to apply and re-applied just 4 hours later. ECOBOND looks fantastic and did exactly what it was supposed to do. I tested for lead paint two days later and the test proved negative. ECOBOND treated and sealed the wall and protected my family. The customer service was great with any questions I had. Thank you ECOBOND!

The state and city threatened us because of elevated lead levels in our son's blood. They said that they could make us encapsulate all walls and ceilings using their contractors, We Cascaded the walls, skim-coat-plastered (with drywall inserts and netting as needed), used Ecobond, then Behr semi-gloss paints (because the health department has machines that beam the walls for lead evidence) - and in one room we used York washable wallcovering. The question about whether the wallpaper would stick to the grittiness of the Ecobond was resolved. After sizing with Rustoleum Zinsser, it went up-and stayed up. What an ordeal, and the moral of the story is to tell the nanny-state to stay on the front porch. Iron supplement multivitamin droplets in milk, and not burning scrap-wood in the fireplace solved our son's problem.

I had somewhat a positive espireanc, only problem was when I used ecobond the weather was terrible, it was extremely hot and humid here in NYC so it took me extra time to finish my Painting project because I had to give the ECO-BOND extra time to dry.
