I have an active complaint against EMSI with the Better Business Bureau for their shoddy work.
In 2022, we had them build an addition on our house. Most of the work was well done. BUT, I contacted them in September 2024 to ask them to come check the flooring they installed in our mudroom and powder room, as it seems unstable.
No one from the firm ever responded to my email.
Fast forward to January 2025 and we are having our kitchen redone. I asked our contractor to take a look at the flooring because he also said it felt unstable. His team opened it up and found that EMSI had tried to level the mudroom flooring using random pieces of plywood (see attached photos). This practice is obvious not standard and if I had known they had done this I never would have paid the remainder of the balance.
Even worse is the job they did in our powder room connected to the mudroom. When the team pulled up the mudroom flooring to see the plywood they noticed some mold in powder room. Upon pulling that flooring up, they found that the toilet in the powder room was installed incorrectly, had been leaking into the insulation for the last 2 years, and the insulation was full of mold. All of the mudroom insulation and flooring had to be replaced and the toilet reinstalled. I sent the photos to EMSI. No one responded.
The EMSI team's shoddy construction put my kids' health and safety at risk. Worse, they don't seem to care as they have never responded to my emails. Do not work with this team under any circumstances.
