They called asking for a donation, when I told them what I would be willing to pay it wasn't good enough. I told them I could give them nothing instead, the tone magically changed. They took my ONE TIME DONATION information and decided to help themselves to a reoccurring charge. Reported their irresponsible behavior to my bank and told them to block all payments.

I’m always happy and willing to assist with policy changing initiatives that can affect the safeguarding of our local environment, which is why I decided to make monthly contributions to Environment Virginia. What I did not appreciate were the calls asking me to increase my monthly contributions by $20. When I rejected it, they went on and on to see if I would do $15 instead. Again, after refusing, they attempted to see if they could get $10 more.
As a word of advice to Environment Virginia, don’t pester your donors into giving more and more. In fact, be thankful for the regular contributions you receive and leave it at that. Because of the frequent calls, I have ceased my donations. And for those wondering, these contributions are not tax deductible and I went into it with that understanding. I really thought I was supporting an honorable association, but they’ve completely turned me off from ever engaging with them again.
