The water from our new well contains high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide, iron and manganese which we treat with a standard water treatment system for the water going into our house. However, this system does not treat the water going to our swimming pool. Initially we were able to treat the pool chemically but over a few months, as more water was added to the pool due to evaporation, maintenance of the pool water became unmanageable as the accumulation of hydrogen sulfide, iron and manganese overwhelmed our ability to treat the pool chemically. As a result, the pool became a swamp with the water turning an opaque lime green and the pool walls became stained with dark splotches. At that point, we started looking for ways to treat the water going into the pool which led us to Rich at EP Aeration.

Rich is very knowledgeable, thorough and professional. After reviewing our water analysis report, he diagnosed the problem and recommended an affordable system to treat the water in the holding tank before it entered the pool. He installed the system in an hour, thoroughly explained how to maintain it and patiently answered all my questions.

Within two weeks, the pool improved dramatically —the water turned from opaque lime green to clear blue. After a month and our cleaning of the pool filter, the water clarity has been fully restored to its condition before the new well. The dark splotches are slowly fading. Because the system treats the water in the holding tank, we have also noticed improvement in the house water which now benefits from dual treatment systems.

EP Aeration has provided a turn key solution for us at Pinewood Lake HOA Bakersfield CA 93309. Before installing the system in our 7 acre lake we would experience an algae bloom each summer that covered 60% of our lakes surface. The bloom was unsightly and had a bad smell. Often Bakersfield experiences 10,15 days of continuous triple digit heat during the summer. Aeration has tamed Mother Nature and although we still grow algae it never becomes the the opaque bloom and the smell is gone. Water is clear to 6 ft in winter and 2 ft in summer. We avoid fertilizer run off and no longer use copper sulfate. We have done most of the maintenance our selves for the last 8 year Mike or Rich have come on the run or been on the phone to talk us through a problem.
