I put in new sod over two years ago and have had Father and Son taking care of it the entirety of that time. The yard was lush and green for over a year. Then a new weed popped up and everywhere they sprayed it killed my grass. After already replacing the sod once and then killing it again they then claimed that we were not watering enough even though there were no issues for over a year with the sod, and they had admitted to killing the grass the first time around. Should have been more than enough to kick this company to the curb, but we were still we were working with them to see if we could get it resolved.

We had a consultation with Buddy, the owner's son, and while I was trying to show him the weeds growing through the lush parts of the lawn (as he claimed it was being opportunistic) he didn't bother trying to look at what I was showing him, very rudely interrupted me multiple times literally holding up his hand to my face and saying "Stop", told me I was wasting his time, and that I was not listening to his expertise, the very thing that was under scrutiny. I was not being rude or overly aggressive in any way, but very concerned and yes, saying "hey I don't buy your explanation here is my evidence" but that was too much for him to handle I guess.

These pinch-a-penny businesses are terrible at business and their profession apparently. They are so scared to spend a few hundred bucks fixing the issue they caused (I literally pay them to solve these problems because I don't have time to) which would continue getting more than enough business from us to cover whatever the cost is, but instead they are arrogant and condescending and flat out rude and lose all future business from me and anyone I associate with. They dragged their business name through the dirt today.

Don't waste your time with these guys. Honestly, even if I was totally wrong, the way he acted was seriously unprofessional and would have lost me any job I have ever had. I guess nepotism pays however.

In the end, after two years of paying for their services, my yard is terrible looking and yeah I guess it really is my fault for making the mistake of using Father and Son.

The folks at Father And Son Pest Control are completely awesome to work with. Our service technician Brennan is awesome and very knowledgeable at what he does. Always thoughtful in communication and letting us know when they are coming so we can put the dogs away. As well as quick to give us an answer on any questions we have about our lawn or lawn care. I highly recommend this company.

My lawn got worse rather than better with this service. They killed new sod I had put in. The technician(s) were in a super rush, made excuses and was rude when I tried to talk with him. They wanted to put the blame on me by stating it wasn’t watered enough, which was not true at all. I cancelled their service and would recommend not to use them.

Father and Son Lawn Solutions has really transformed my lawn. I previously had another company with little to no noticeable improvements. I am very please with F&Ss service. What really sets F&S's service from the rest, is the customer service. I had two separate lawn concerns that I contacted F&Ss for and F&S promptly sent out a rep for both concerns. They notified me when someone will be by the house. Once there, the F&S rep checked on the concern and kind of gave me a quick lesson .... it wasnt a rushed service call, but seems more like I was interacting with a friend. From the lawn service to customer service to lawn education .... I'd give them 10 stars!

UPDATE: After posting this I received a call from Buddy (the son of Father & Sons). He was genuinely apologetic and offered a full refund. I was concerned that there might be a stipulation of changing or deleting the review but that was never brought up at all. I received a check about a week later. So while I personally had a bad experience I think it’s probably uncommon with this company. If you do choose to go with them and are having concerns do not hesitate to escalate it to make sure you speak with one of the owners. I am going to change it from a 1 to 3 star review because of how professionally it was handled.

I absolutely do not recommend this company. I hired them last year after spending months fighting spurs and weeds on my own. I had never looked into hiring this type of service because in my mind it would be super expensive and not within my budget. I had a price tag of $200-$250ish in my head of what this would cost so I was stoked and agreed right away to their price of $120/month. Now, I know better and can confirm they are THE MOST EXPENSIVE company in the area by about double of at least 5 other companies I’ve gotten estimates from.

Onto the service experience. Granted, my yard was on the struggle bus when they started, especially the back, but I was told that within 3-4 months (November-ish) that my front yard would look pretty good and the back yard would be making progress. Month after month I had new weeds coming up all over the place. I had to call in and complain numerous times, which would usually get me a call and visit from Steve, each time with him agreeing that the condition of the yard was unacceptable. They would schedule a call back (extra visit between the routine appts) always with little improvement or success in killing some weeds only for a whole new weed to emerge. Many times entire sections of crab grass were left untreated because “it was going to kill the surrounding St Augustine grass”. What? That was honestly just an excuse because they were treating other areas and also what kind of mentality is that? We will just let this weed continue to grow and takeover so we don’t hurt any healthy grass. Ummm, no. Additionally, I asked time and time again for more communication regarding what exactly they did each time and updates on progress/expected results. I never got it. I got little to no information left on the door hanger each time. The last time they treated my yard, just before I finally cancelled, they were there for NINE MINUTES. Nine minutes from the time my cameras first detected them to the time they were back in the truck driving off. How could anyone possibly have not only adequately treated an entire yard in that time but also evaluated what needed to be done and adjust the chemicals to what was needed? Simple answer - they couldn’t.

Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time or money.

The sod webworms have been the worst this year like none other we've experienced. We pretty much lost our lawn a couple of yrs ago. Used another company, to no avail, lawn a mess and $$$ down the pipe. We tried self treat, lay new grass and was ready to give it up to the weeds that replaces good grass this year. We took a final try and This company stayed ahead and although we had some challenges, we had some balding, we also had pretty quick recovery with grass. We followed recommendations and were pleased with the number of times they came out to re-treat at no cost. They saved our lawn and we were able to sit on our patio and enjoy our lawn, plants and flowers. Thank you!

Over the last 2-3 years my lawn has show significant improvement. Father and son come out promptly if i feel the lawn is developing an issue. I also talk w the service guys when they are here and they have been very helpful and courteous! I’ve tried other companies and will stay w F&S, thanks!
