just got home and my water was turned off. apparently, we had a late bill, although I have no record of receiving. there was a notice on the door and the water was cut off the same day. no previous correspondence. you would think after 16 or 17 years of timely payments, a courtesy call is in order. we called the emergency number as it was after hours, but cory (think that was his name) defended their policy as being beyond what is necessary. rude and pretty insensitive,

and, this after I spoke to the district about a leak I had about a month ago, and was informed on the telephone it was my side and I was responsible. but, after getting a plumber, it was determined it was their side and they were responsible. what absolute horrible customer service! no apology, just a monopoly with no concern for the customer. they did fix the leak, but never let me know. the only reason I know they admitted it was their fault is my neighbor was there when they fixed.

I have to say I am aghast at the incredibly poor customer service, the incompetence displayed, and the lack of effort to work with a long time customer. this is the problems with monopolies, no accountability. tomorrow morning I will pay my bill and move on but isn't it sad that we have to suffer this type of frustration in a district set up to serve us, and is only in business because we pay? even pg&e sends multiple notices before terminating service!
