Stayed here for several nights in late August 2024. Very clean and spacious sites, especially for a County campground. Landscaping was top notch. Bathrooms were very clean and well kept if a little dated (shower water smelled and tasted heavily of iron). Host Pete was very friendly and helpful. Huge beautiful oak trees all over the campground. Electric and water at RV sites and a dump station and trash bins are available. Fire rings at all sites. The surrounding area (corn and soybean fields and quaint small towns) is a big bonus. I-72 is about 3 miles south and beautiful Clinton Lake is about 5 miles north. Decatur is just west about 15-20 minutes on I-72 and Champaign is east on I-72 about 20-25 minutes. Big box store shopping in either city. Loved staying here and it's a hidden gem amidst the rural central Illinois towns. Highly recommend.

By far the cleanest, easiest campground I've ever stayed at. Reserving a site online was so easy, and when we pulled into the campground, our site was already labeled for our reservation. The campground also has firewood available for purchase.

The restrooms are either brand new or extremely well taken care of. There was no bug, trash item, grime or dirt in these restrooms. My husband's words were, and I quote, "I don't need to shower, but I feel like I'm missing out if I don't take a shower here".

This campground is clearly well taken care of and we will definitely stay here again when on a road trip through the area. I appreciated that this campground accepts tent campers and one-night reservations. Perfect for a road trip when you just need a one night stay!

I give a lot of 5 stars, but this place... man just the drive there through the country, windows down, seems like nobody is EVER out driving around there! Feels so isolated, I go there a lot just to get fresh air, I'll go out there some Sundays with some breakfast, play my switch lol, check it out! There are restrooms, you can pull off the road and park, plenty of places to eat and community grills you can use.

Awesome campground! There were picnic tables, pavillions, and grills to use. Great nature trails, nice playground for kids, and a big open field that had some amazing star views. Camp host was friendly, and the restrooms were nice and clean! Would definitely recommend and would stay again!!

Wonderful Campground and the facilities are excellent. Have been going there for years. The 2024 opening weekend ended with a different opinion. The playground, restroom and showers were still excellent, but the park maintenance as far as mowing, trimming back trees and spaying for insects was less than adequate. Park personnel were applying chemicals on the day of arrival of all the guest, and it was evident that the grass had not been mowed for awhile as it was several inches high.
The application of chemicals just hours before children and pets arrive is a questionable decision. Blue residue was all over the roadway, campsites, and trees, , making it impossible to prevent tracking the chemical into the campers/tents.

This is our 5th time in a year to stay at Friends Creek Campground. The camping spots are spead apart just right so you are not on top of your neighbors. The bathroom/showerhouse is very clean. The out building bathrooms are also kept very clean. We just love talking to the Host, Pete and his son. He cares so much for this campground. It's a real hidden gem.
