Have written a review on yelp but wanted to share on google.
Buyer beware is the best way I could put this. You really need to do your research before diving into this large investment.
Lets start with the sales aspect. You have 3 ways for paying this. One is to pay it cash. That's probably the best and only option you should use and as I continue you will see why. 2nd option would be to finance. no money down, looks appetizing but can bite you in the long run. 3rd would be a lease which I can't write about because I don't have the facts on it but would imagine selling your home would cause problems with the long term attached to a lease.
Financing comes at 25 yrs. Credit approval of course, but a key selling pitch was the tax credit. Yes I was told the % was dwindling down. And I was told that I had 18 months to pay that credit back to the loan so the payment would remain the same. What wasn't shared was the fact that the IRS will only give you a portion of the total credit. So will the State. And that the remaining balances can be claimed the following year so unless your making larger payments prior to the 18 month deadline, your monthly payment will increase after the 18 months.
Lets get to the equipment. The solar edge app will let you see what your system is producing. There is an optional buss that when installed on your system that will allow you to see not only what you produce but what the electric company is taking and what your house is using. I suggest getting this device. These systems are designed to give the Electric company the opportunity to buy your production and sell it to your neighbor (is how it was explained to me). Unfortunately for you, the electric company buys production at a substandard price and charges much more. Oh, it you cant charge the many fees they do. and you lock into that price for a period of time. what does all this mean, it means along with paying a loan for your system, you will get a bill from the electric company. I was told a check every year but the credit amount is so small that they just carry it over for the summer hit. So yes, your electric bill will be smaller then usual, but if you combined the loan payment, your probably right back to the same payment.
Winter time is different because you benefit by not running A/C and saver on power. not sure why you can't get a system large enough to cover your entire home in solar panels but someone told me that the electric company only allows a % of you current usage to move to solar. This is why they as for a few months bills to determine your system size. Not sure if that is true or not but I had asked to take in consideration of a pool in my home when constructing this system. After viewing what's being taken by the electric company, there is no way that's happening now.
The contractor who installed the system was outstanding. they were quick and efficient. cleaned up nicely and have been my go to if I have any issues.. so far so good but the inverter has a shorter life than then loan so I was given the backup inverter. Don't see it written n my contract. but recalled it being said. hope that word is good. Just something else you should consider. before investing in this system.
So in closing I would say if your an environmental person, nothing i said previous would matter because you are saving the environment and AOC will love you for it. But would I do this again, only if I had the cash to buy it out right. That's the only way everyone benefits. so the 2 stars are for what this system brings in the winter months and once paid off. I wasn't happy with sales portion of this project.
It is my belief that this type of system benefits the electric companies more than the individual who owns it. To bad they don't make a battery system where you can store all that energy and use it at night or a later. Maybe in the future. At the very least, the electric companies should pay a fare price for using your gathered power to power other homes. At the time of this review, APS is seeking a rate hike. Imagine that.
Good luck

The salesmen were pounding at my door like crazy thieves for a few minutes to the point where my animals freaked out and injured themselves. I cleaned up blood for an hour. These people are literally harassing me to the point where I gotta arm myself and call the HOA every time they show up.
