I love GP Transco. The ONLY reason I left is because I want to be down South more. I am giving them 5 stars, as they are probably the best company I've ever driven for (I've driven for 7 companies from gigantic JB Hunt to a small family company of 15 drivers out of Idaho). All of the employees from the office, to dispatch, to the shop guys are friendly and nice! I only ever got irritated with one dispatch guy one time.

With GP you will be in the cold and wintry weather a lot, but they don't force you to drive if you don't feel safe. When you get hired they ask you which places/cities you DO NOT want to go to. I listed NYC and Jersey City as well as Detroit, and no Wyoming in the winter months and I was never sent to those places.

Sometimes you will go to places that are mostly meant for day cabs (I posted a picture of the way I had to dock once because it was a small place), and you will do a lot of paper loads. Paper loads mean you will have to clean out trailers quite a bit (a small blower makes that easier) and you will go to places with nasty, muddy parking lots. But I found all of that worth it because they are a great company. It's also a lot of live loads and some drop and hook loads.

There is only one Terminal and it's in Joliet, IL. The terminal is very nice! Nice, clean showers, indoor basketball court, full kitchen, yoga equipment, a workout room, and a drivers lounge. If they had more terminals and more work in the southern regions, they would be MY PERFECT company to work for.

One of the best things, for me, is that I could bring BOTH of my dogs! You can have two dogs with a fee and they take that fee out of your checks in installments. The normal breed restrictions and rules apply (picture of my dogs for fun ☺️). Oh and they are even more awesome because, I took care of my truck and they actually reimbursed probably 90% of my pet deposit. That 🤯🤯🤯 blew my mind! I miss you all already!

Great OTR company to work for. Good miles, pay, home time & equipment. Very organized company. Staff is very friendly. Terminal has gym, showers, laundry room and it's own maintence department. Really good vibes. Glad to be apart of the company!

GP Transco is what I feel the industry standard should be. Employed 3+ years now. I have always been treated as the licensed professional I am. Barely 3 months in I became critically I'll and was hospitalized for two months and when I got home my truck and trailer were waiting for me along with nothing but well wishes. That is rare in any industry.

This message is for high achievers , this place is not recommended from a business perspective for your growth in revenue or success.

The top performers and those who valued drivers and talent are no longer here.

The new year is on the horizon and I'm doing my part in making a positive difference, limiting wasting time, money and effort for your time is valuable, once it's gone you can never get it back.

Update 11/26 Poor leadership that suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

This company representatives are dishonest unprofessionals. They will attempt to place false negative remarks like "involuntarily let go" or "truck abandonment" to prevent you from moving forward. These tactics may work with unprofessionals.

Didn't mention the thousands of dollars owed to me see photos of final two weeks.

I'm unsure whose truly responsible; Vin Mickevicius director of operations, karl or robert in their HR department or all of them however I have receipts.

In these photos you see that your truck and trailer was delivered to your only terminal in Joliet IL handed all documents to Jake new shop manager and you were given notice of my leaving. You did not fire me.

The rate this operation is going, I won't be surprised you'll be out of business in 3-5 years.

Perhaps that's the plan for some major carrier to buy out and restructure the company.

Update February 11th 2025 Hope everyone is where they should be successful or broke. As for me I'm doing well fiscally and making a positive difference doing such. Still early in the year and moving in the right direction. I am thankful that I don't sit around for loads and play video games or amazed at truck features that don't generate revenue to my bottom line and not missing my family or time. If you're not making 6 figures or better in trucking then you're wasting your time.

One of the best, if not, best companies I've driven for, my Driver Manager keeps me moving; making money. Company has great benefits, and a very nice per diem payout..plus, I LOVE my beautiful truck

Used to be a good place to work. Something happened about a year ago that changed. They targeted me unfairly for termination. Don't let them fool you into thinking they care. After nearly 4 years of dedication they leave me stranded in their HQ with my belongings, my dog, and not a single way home. If a company really cares about its drivers, they would extend that courtesy to getting them home after screwing them over.

On another note, pretty much everyone who was there when I started moved on to better opportunities, including some of the office staff. Good luck to those still driving for them. It's becoming a revolving door of employees.

Edit to add: I did some experiments where I was in fact watching the road but my face was facing to the side with my hand on the dash and off the dash, and facing toward the driver window with hand on dash and off dash. Only one of those videos was used as "evidence" for my inattentive driving.
Things were not followed through with and the terms were changed without my knowledge.

Update FOR THE OWNER. EVERYTHING I STATED BELOW IS VERY ACCURATE! The problem is you worried about reviews then your drivers. A good owner shows face and talks to his/her drivers and address concers! I have everything document and everything I speak on is only On facts!
This company is terrible—they do not care about their drivers at all. Most of the office staff are simply there for a paycheck, showing no empathy for the drivers. I followed their expectations and ran the miles they wanted, yet I was still given low mileage. I have documented emails expressing my concerns.

Ultimately, they terminated me for "poor performance and excessive time off." However, the real issue was a wage garnishment. They claimed their hands were tied and that they could not help, which was completely untrue—they simply chose not to assist. If you don't believe me, a quick Google search will show that companies have the right to defend their employees against wage garnishments. Instead, they allowed an entity to garnish 100% of my paycheck. I simply asked them, "Would you be willing to drive a truck for nothing per week?"

The reason for my time off was that I was planning my resignation. I needed time to arrange a rental car and a hotel because, like many companies, I knew they would leave me stranded with no way home. It took me about two weeks to gather money and secure another job. However, on my last planned day, they abruptly terminated me, likely to avoid dealing with my departure on my terms. They asked me to come into the office, and when I declined, they told me to clean out my truck—which I was already in the process of doing. Their attitude during this situation was unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional.

I personally had a horrible experience. Despite when I was able to, I did drove more than any other company at closer to 2k miles per week. Again when able. Unfortunately in the first 2 months I have had 5 different driver managers that all did things differently and made things difficult. The first driver manager specifically left a bad impression and I hope isnt there anymore. Jacquelyn was her name. She had it out for me for no reason. Only manager to make me wait 3-5 hours after EVERY load for a new one. The rest i still had to wait around 2 hours. But that's not all. She was extremely rude most calls so avoided calling unless I had to. One time I had a few issues and it inconvenienced her so she got mad and hung up and I had to call the office manager to get someone new at that point and to get help. Very unprofessional. I did however have one good manager right after I wish I could've kept but didn't last very long maybe 2 weeks. About how long I kept getting new managers at that point. The Biggest reason I had to quit though was the pay. despite driving the most, I still made less than my previous job. Another small complaint was multiple times I was there I'd get a load back to the terminal in the middle of the week but wasn't ready to or wanted to go home. But they magically didn't have any loads and wanted me to do a 34 hour reset. Which would've been fine if I could've been off the weekend to but wouldn't let me yet magically had loads for the weekend if it happened that way. Drivers care about their weekends off. Stop messing with drivers.
