This was FANTASTIC! The whole experience was amazing . If you have kiddos who are into trains or even just want a fun and interactive experience this is your cup of tea . My family had the most amazing time on the Grand Canyon Railway. We rode first class and our coach host was Michael . He was funny and informative. The seats were comfortable and they had excellent snacks. Morning they served pastries and donuts. For the afternoon run they served cheese and meat and fruit along with a good selection of beverages. They had a great Wild West show prior to boarding with an excellent cast. Buy your boarding pass now, you won’t be disappointed.

The train ride was a great experience. My husband and I, along with another couple rode the train to Grand Canyon Village. We all enjoyed the ride very much. We were in the Luxury Dome for the departure and our host was Noel. Noel was very engaging and made us, as well as the rest of the passengers, feel at ease and relaxed. There were complimentary drinks and snacks offered to everyone in the train car. We returned in the first class train car with our host, Sierra. and she too was able to engage the passengers to keep the ride interesting and then there was the train robbery! The conversations with other guests and entertainment on the train kept the ride very interesting. Also, we had an opportunity to go outside and take pictures on the train balcony. Very cool! We are thinking about coming back w/grandkids in a year or two for the Polar Express.

What a great way to visit the Grand Canyon! We rode coach on the way there and then on the luxury dome on the way back. Car hosts were great on both trips, as well as the “in-trail entertainment. The views were incredible and the convenience of being dropped off minutes from the edge of the Canyon was lovely.

For reference, coach offered a seat in an air conditioned car, with a restroom at one end of the car. A cafe car was accessible to us during the trip. On the way back in the luxury dome, we had seats with a great view of the natural scenery. We also had access to a buffet table of light appetizers and desserts, and alcoholic drinks if we wanted them. Best part of the luxury dome was the ability to visit the platform on the rear car and watch the rails wind away behind us!

What a fantastic experience! And a great way to see the Grand Canyon without having to drive there. ? Keep in mind that you don't actually see the canyon from the train, but the train is the experience BEFORE seeing the canyon.

Great get-away. Stayed at The Grand Canyon Hotel, then took their train to the Canyon. Well worth the prices. Our host on the train, Mike, was excellent. Humorous, knowledgeable, and helpful. Very fun trip.

Great day out! Excellent folks and a pleasant train ride to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Nancy is an amazing host. The first class ticket I booked was worth every penny. The food was good on the train and at the Canyon. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a day of adventure. Just watch out for bandits.

This was a fantastic experience. I selected 1st class going and wish I'd done it round trip. The roomy seats, the cushioned chairs, the recline feature and foot rest were all much appreciated...especially since none of that was provided with coach. Lol!
My servers both ways were kind and kept it exciting with info. I had a mimosa in the morning served at my seat. Then on the return ride we had a fake train robbery. It was so cool.
The train did get cold (I went in August) so pack a sweater or blanket/throw.
