Great Lakes Energy offers the BEST Customer service from outages being fixed in a timely manner to offering other services to their customers. We are not eligible YET for the Fiber Optics, but just know I will switch from my present internet company when they get to my area.
They are Truly a Community/Customer focused company and much appreciated!

If I could give a zero I would . This company charges you a $35 dollar service fee on top of the actual usage. I have automatic payment set up so I was not paying close attention that apparently my meeter had not been working for a few months. I received no phone call for a 7 month period! Now great lakes energy is doing a guestament on my bill for me to pay them a large lump sum of money! Remind you this house has recently not been lived in . So my main question is why are we paying a "service" fee if they are not even checking there own equipment?

I have had many electric providers in different part of the U.S. but honestly none compare to Great Lakes Energy. I love the consistent price. Our bill barely ever changes. It is reliable. We have lived out here in rural chase mi for three years now. Never have any worries in storms. Their frequent mailed newsletter/magazine is also great.

We constantly lose power with Great Lakes. This would be fine but they don't even give an ETA for power restoration. I'm not sure why other people are saying they communicate effectively during outages because they don't. They never have. They say, "We're working on it." That's all they'll ever tell their customers during a power outage. They won't even say, "We have X number of customers out so you may be out of power for over eight hours and we recommend you find alternate accommodations for the day/evening." They tell you NOTHING. Their inability to provide even the most roughly estimated power restoration time frame says to me they don't care about their customers.

I am very pleased to have Great Lakes Energy as a home service for our family. Courtesy and helpful when I've called. Service has been great in my area and when power does go out because of storms I can get updates on estimated time frame on when the power will be restored. I'm always thankful for the men and women who restore our power during bad weather and pray for their safety.

Power/Energy companies are not something that I think “I want to leave a review for!” But here I am... I honestly have found their customer service fast and personal. I love the fact that when I get them on the phone I’m talking to some one Dow the fiat hat understands what it’s like in northern Michigan. In addition I’ve been very happy with the expansion of there service. The decision to offer fiber internet to there customers shows that rather then stagnation, they are actively trying to find ways to serve there customers best.

Ever since my husband and I moved into this house 16 years ago, we have seen nothing but the fastest reconnect to electricity whenever storms have taken power out. I have never seen such excellent work anywhere I have ever lived in Michigan. I am so happy with the service I get! The times everyone else's power goes, friends call and ask me if I have power and I reply absolutely YES. They end up waiting for hours and even days for theirs to be restored! I have seen how they cleared trees etc out of the way of the lines and it really has helped to keep our power on in the endless snows, pouring rains, and ice storms we have had during our bad weather times.........I wouldn't move from here for a million dollars! Thank you Great Lakes Energy for your excellence!
