Check in was a breeze, and the front desk staff was professional and personable. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and large. The fireplace was so cozy and the bed was very comfy. We loved the back area with a nice patio, beautiful fire pit, plenty of seating, and a great view of the golf course. The pool was warm enough in December to splash around for a bit The location is convenient and close to the village of HMB which had a lot of dining and shopping options. Also, very close to the Coastal Access Trail. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!

The pillows actually ARE the fluffiest I've ever slept on. I've been a fan of this property for almost 30 years!! The hotel remains consistently wonderful! The property has aged beautifully with just the perfect upgrades and improvements to maintain the property's charm and allure. The rooms are so cozy and comfortable, the free breakfast amazing! A perfect saltwater pool and the most charming gazebo covered hot tub are a must when visiting this hotel!!

Well. It IS a lodge. So I guess it’s somewhere between a hotel and a motel. It IS in the coastal area (not on the beach). I DID get a lower rate soooo I guess you get what you pay for. ||- No AC. They do have fan and patio door opens for fresh air. |- Phone doesn’t work. They text you and you text them. ‍♀️|- Not centrally located but they do have bicycles you can rent. |- Offer robes. One had a stain (hope it was a stain rather than not being washed)|- Lovely Lavendar lotion. The container was just about empty. |- Doors to the rooms are outdoors so pretty noisy when luggage passes. |- No extra blanket. I doubled up the comforter. |- Furniture is pretty banged up.|- Hot tub and pool available. I don’t use. The gym is a treadmill and bike and hand weights. That’s it. Very smalll room. ||Just a get away? Might be ok. Want to impress or be impressed? Nope.

Comfortable bed! Lots of choices at the free breakfast buffet. Quiet - we stayed in early December. Hot tub was hot and clean. Entire pool area was welcoming. Yes the lodge is an older building but updated and well maintained.

Comfortable beds and pillows. Very clean and kid friendly. Outdoor pool was warm enough to swim in 60 degree weather. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Will definetly book again but will request a top floor room to avoid the noise above us.

A Perfect Coastal Retreat at Half Moon Bay Lodge : I recently had the pleasure of staying at Half Moon Bay Lodge, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience! From the moment I arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The lodge is beautifully situated, offering stunning views of the coastline and easy access to nearby beaches and trails.

The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I particularly enjoyed the cozy fireplace and the peaceful atmosphere that allowed for a truly relaxing retreat.

The complimentary breakfast was a delightful start to each day, featuring fresh, locally sourced options. The lodge's proximity to local attractions made it easy to explore the charming town of Half Moon Bay and indulge in the amazing seafood restaurants nearby.

Overall, my stay at Half Moon Bay Lodge was nothing short of wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape or a base for exploring the beautiful California coast! I can’t wait to return!

The assigned upstairs room was actually a pain with our two large international travel suitcases. We have been in the USA now for 8 weeks of travel.|The room was clean, quite large and mostly practical.|There is heating only, with no air con. There is a ceiling fan.|A few mozzies around of an evening and the sliding screen door in our room #214 did not fully seal = age.|The room fridge is tiny and has no freezer section; which I needed for my medicine's travel pack; BUT the fridge then froze all of the contents on our first night; even though we appeared to have no control of the fridge temp setting.|The stay is showing its age somewhat despite the stay saying that all of the rooms have been refurbed: the mattress had saggy edges and we had to ask for a replacement coffee machine, as the initial one in the room did not fully heat the water.|Breakfast was pleasing but the dining space is way too small when the hotel is busy / over a weekend.||The dining venue adjacent = Joes gave us a very pleasing pair of evening dinner meals. Cameron’s English Pub up the road is also recommended.

The location was the best part of this hotel being close to both a restaurant and not too far to the beach. The pool and games were much appreciated by me and my daughter as well as the sliding door that lead out to a green space my daughter loved running around. All was well and good until we realized no ac; it was a pretty terrible night sleep unfortunately. This really needs to be updated ; until that happens unfortunately, we likely won’t be back because I need to be comfortable to sleep.
