We love Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation. They supported two of our Solar for All community PV projects and then helped us install solar PV panels on our office. In the first three weeks of solar generation we saved $107 which is a huge help to non-profit organization. Our office is heated and cooled by heatpumps. Our goal is to have a Net Zero Energy office. Thanks HCS for helping us meet our climate action goal!

Sugar Creek Lutheran Church is a rural congregation in southern Wisconsin and part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In the Spring of 2023, we began exploring what it would take to add a solar energy array to meet our energy needs. We are happy to report that by the Fall of 2024 that exploration has become a reality. During our exploration we were made aware of Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation Solar Moonshot Program as a possible source of funding for the project. The process of applying for the grant helped us hone our focus and purpose. Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation Solar Moonshot Program was more than encouraging about the community outreach and youth ministry that is a cornerstone of Sugar Creek Lutheran church. Their mission is to help us continue our ministry and mission and address our congregation’s commitment and response to the mandate that we be good stewards of God’s good creation.

Our Rotary Climate Action group has teamed with the Solar Moonshot Program to help several non-profits go solar. The Moonshot grant submittal interface is easy to use and the team is great to work with! The non-profits are typically hesitant to apply for a grant and then are pleasantly surprised when the grant is authorized with no strings attached! Initially the program seems too good to be true, but once the grant is approved it helps convince cash strapped non-profits make the solar investment, avoid thousands of dollars of future electrical bills and reduce their carbon footprint. This is an outstanding program!

Buckhorn Children and Family Services has worked with Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation to secure funding for both phases of our solar project in rural Kentucky. We are seeking to get to net 0 electrical consumption for our non-profit women’s addiction recovery home. With their help, through the Solar Moonshot Program, we are achieving that goal. The team worked with me to find funding for both phases of our program, most recently to completion of phase 2 of the project in the summer of 2024. They have been instrumental in our ability to fund and move forward with this groundbreaking project. The funds they provided are going to negate our electrical costs and allow us to put more resources into the recovery program. We are grateful for their help and diligence in providing various funding sources, which is vital to the success of our non-profit.

Hammond Climate Solutions is amazing! The Hammond team helped our church to secure a Solar Moonshot grant which enabled our congregation to go solar. We'd been talking about it for years, but hadn't been able to make it happen. Through the team's guidance and presentations, they were able to convey the importance of solar energy to the entire congregation and drastically reduced our energy bill while helping us to live into our mission of caring for the environment. They were also able to help us secure a battery storage unit which enables us to be a resource for the community if there is ever a power outage. This incredible project reduced utility bill costs that can be reinvested into the community, lowered local carbon emissions contributing to the climate crisis while supporting local green jobs and the regional economy. A huge thanks to Hammond Climate Solutions!

St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church (outside of Cincinnati, OH) was fortunate to be able work with Hammond Climate Solution’s Solar Moonshot grant program. Moonshot was easy to work with and their matching grant allowed us to install a 15 kW system on our church. This system has raised awareness of solar power in the congregation and the community, and the savings on our utility bill has enabled us to increase our support for the summer Peace Leadership program we participate in for local middle school students. We recommend other non-profits contact Solar Moonshot for help with their solar aspirations.
