So I basically got in a situation, where I had to get out to Chicago due to an emergency situation with my daughter at the Chicago University hospital. Because she was still going to be in the ICU within the hospital rules I would not be allowed to stay with her overnight .
I needed a quick place to stay and I came across Happy Homes.
I wasn't sure what to expect because I'm extremely an out of Towner and I don't know the neighborhood.
But the location and the price was so good I booked a room for a night.
And I was under a little stress being in a big city and dealing with issues with my kid at the hospital.
But I did need accommodations for one night.
And now today I will be leaving here.
I will say that the manager is extremely professional very polite he was patient with me because I was a little confused of the accommodations.
However, once I got checked in my room was Private very pleasant clean I didn't really explore the house too much but the bathroom was very clean and overall it was very comfortable , and accommodating experience.And it got me through the night, now I can go back to the hospital, is my daughter is no longer in the ICU

For the price and location, these rooms are better than any hotels you will find. The house was clean, the kitchen was fully equipped and the rooms were very comfortable. Overall a great experience

This spot was more of a 'hostel' than a room or house to book. There were longer term residents on one floor, and on the upper floors there were a few private rooms and then one large room that had beds for six folks. That is where our group of friends stayed. I found the space generally clean. It was full all the nights we were there. Those few days, the other guests were polite and respectful. The presumed owner hovered a bit .... maybe ensuring there were no problems. The kitchen facilities were adequate with a roomy refrigerator and all other necessary appliances. As far as I could see, it was clean. Likewise, the bathroom was kept clean, but there were too many guests using one bathroom. The neighborhood has seen better days, and on my arrival I felt somewhat uncertain about my comfort level with the neighborhood. But I felt safe in the hostel and found other guests to be respectful. Some guests had stayed there before and had chosen to return.

I loved our time at Happy House 5430. The service was awesome, the place was perfect for our needs. The beds were even the kind that you could pull up and lock, which was lovely after all that Chicago pizza. The red line is a 7 minute walk away, there's shops nearby, and is just a great location to get around the city. This place is awesome as a place to crash. It's homey and comfortable, like staying at your cool cousin's place. Speaking of cool cousins, Dee was so cool to work with. He is patient, knowledgeable, and cool to talk to. We made some friends staying here too. Can't wait for a chance to come back to Chicago and stay again at the House!

Happy homes is just that...a happy home. It's a bed to lay your head and a bathroom with a shower to provide those needs. The most unique experience is Ms. Jessie. She goes above and beyond to meet your needs. I've never stayed in an environment like this before. It's always been hotels and motels but if I ever come back to Chicago I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Ms. Jessie for allowing me to stay with you for a couple of nights. It was wonderful.

This place is fantastic when you want A PEACE OF MIND 🙏🏾 I relocated back to Chicago and needed to get SETTLED back in before finding a place. I had a single room that was spacious. In addition, to excellent communication with the host and other guests. Everyone stayed to themselves and was pretty was quiet 🤫 all the time. I stayed for a week. The quality was amazing because if the location. Dunkin Donuts 🍩 , shopping center mall, Burger King 👑 and other stores 🏬 within a few minutes of walking distance, if needed to walk. Having a private room this affordable was amazing🤩 They spend a lot of time, energy, and LOVE in making sure their guests have a quiet 🤫 space to rest. I would definitely recommend Happy Homes 🏡 when you are in immediate need of a place to stay 😉

The property has shown an incredible lack of responsibility with my reservation. They informed me that my room was overbooked just two weeks before my trip, despite having made the reservation three months ago. Additionally, the alternatives they offered were unavailable by the time I responded. Instead of calling me immediately when this issue arose, they chose to mislead me, causing confusion and leaving me without options. I ended up having to cancel my reservation just one week before my trip. I am completely unsatisfied with their service.

I spent 5 days here during spring break. I was so happy to stay here because this hostel is always clean, safe, quiet, and cozy. The owner, Jessie, was so friendly and nice. She always welcomes me with her beautiful smile. I arrived here pretty late night, but I could check in smoothly. This hostel equipped everything all you need. (hair dryer, towels, silverware, kitchen, and laundry machine) You do not need to bring your stuff. I just can't believe that I can stay here with cheap price. If you consider that where you have to stay in Chicago, I highly recommend here, "Happy Homes." I will stay again here if I visit Chicago again.
