How does a government issued supplemental assistance card that was issued under my name, get activated and completely used by God knows who without my consent? Yet the only thing that this facility was able to do for me is, well, nothing. Just pretty much was told to reapply and get over that "simple fact". Which is to wait another 3-4 months only to find out if I qualify once again or not. Not to mention I was staying at a nearby shelter at the time. What type of system are we living in now a days? How can I keep my food stamps card from being stolen and rely on this facility to do something about it?

First time coming to this location, needed help with my benefits and knowing if I got approved or not. Office personnel didn’t help at all!! They just directed me to some small office and told me to “wait for a call” . That call never came, waited like an idiot for 30min

Don’t go to this location!!
I went in a mother of three children had all the right paperwork and turned it in to renew my benefits, I waited two weeks and never got my snap benefits renewed. I Went back to the location and they lost my paperwork this ended up happening twice to me. I went a whole month with no food benefits. They have no remorse and have no actions in actually helping you or doing their job. Went to another location on alameda today and they gave me my benefits immediately.

I am a Mother of 3 under the age of 6 and went in today to get a status update on my application only to get told the reason why my application is taking forever is due to Covid19 and my thing is this: why are we getting interruption in services to Snap-food benefits. If Covid19 is still at large; why are we being cut off? We received letters claiming we wouldn't be cut and the website it self states we wouldn't be cut services without interrupted services but have been.

Once I was able to be seen, the community outreach coordinator was very helpful and very friendly.( We had been receiving help in the past.) Unfortunately, the funding for most of the assistance programs are pending approval from the Texas Legislature (and possibly the U.S. Legislature). They also recommended following up with another program ( for which we were on the waiting list previously ). The department is very useful, both for those who need their assistance and for the health community in general. Be prepared to wait and to fill out forms, but they may be able to provide emergency help in certain situations.
