if i could zero stars i would- the least this city could have done was EMAIL/NOTIFY me that you no longer take autopay payments from savings accounts. so thanks for ruining my morning when this could have been prevented from simple communication.

This company is the WORST. Always cutting the power off on THE DUE DATE. Don't give extensions, and their billing makes no sense. There is always 2 amounts, and seems to be billed twice a month and not once. I'd understand being shut off if behind, but this is outrageous.

They are always charging you to pay their water and sewer bill? I don't understand why we pay so much. It's because of their water and sewer? We pay for our own through the rent. Why pay twice? Their budget sucks they cost more than your regular bill. Can't wait to move out and away from HP elect. They are a ripoff!!

We were forced to pay a deposit despite having over a 700 credit score and nearly 20 years perfect history with Duke. The staff is way nice, but the deposit rule is ridiculous. Plus, how is it legal that your only provider is the government?

86 dollars just for having the service on every month. Not to even mention what services you actually use on top. That is outrageous. Thank the city council because they set it. Glad I'm leaving this dump.

This is the second in a row that our power has been out! Every time it rains, the power is out. Last Sunday it was out for 6hrs overnight. We were left with no heat and I have 3 children. Following Sunday, today, power is out and it’s been about 3hrs now and it’s 6pm. Chances are we’ll be going to bed without heat again.

My complaint isn’t just these 2 instances. I’ve lived in High Point for nearly 2 years and literally when it rains hard, the power goes out for many hours! Hate this damn place!

Never move to any triad that goes through high point electric they are the absolute worse. They do not offer payment plans or extensions and you will never see a bill under $300 and your bill summary doesn’t show a bill breakdown between your electric & water. The agents that answer are so rude just ask to speak with a supervisor and leave a message because they are the only ones who can assist you. Move to a place that offers Duke energy and save yourself the anger and headache every month. Sincerely a current customer.

my account with the city of High point has been in good standing for over 7 years. I recently had a death in the family which required me to relocate as well as take on additional family members. I went to get my services transferred to the new address and they told me I had to show them a copy of the new lease. Upon showing them my new lease, they stated that a member of my household allegedly owes them a past due balance from years ago and they will not restore my power until the balance is paid in full. My power has been off for 5 days now in the middle of a global pandemic and they are trying to make me responsible for a debt that I do not owe. These people are heartless tyrants. They think they can treat people however they want because they have a monopoly.
