You have written 5 signs “Any bikes attached to these railings will be removed”.
I can understand why you have those signs but think it would be more positive if YOU could understand the reason why anyone would want to attach a bike on railings and replace your signs by information on where people could park safely their bikes.
You have place for 4 bikes (it’s a good thing ! Advertise it )

In my home town, every time we ask the council why they don’t provide bike parking here and there, they systematically say “it’s because “Architectes des Bâtiments de France” don’t let us”
Don’t be ABF !

The folks at HES bent over backward to explain their mission, their process and the procedures for gaining approval of modification, design and upkeep of listed buildings.

Really inappropriate behaviour by staff yesterday afternoon at castlehill. Blonde woman driving large silver car with 2 other employees wearing uniforms in the car. Excessively honking car horn and shouting at tourists to get out the way. Maybe don’t promote historical sites then get mad tourists come to visit. You maybe saved 5 seconds of driving. Don’t expect the only narrow entrance to the castle to be empty.

A great organisation helping preserve Scottish heritage. I've been a member for two years, and the membership is great value for exploring Scotland's historical sites. In addition, its' offered discounted or free access to sites in England. HES seems to be a well run organisation with lots of public activities throughout the year, encouraging families to get out and explore Scotland's heritage. Staff are well trained, usually enthusiastic, and helpful.

Lots of sites currently sitting closed with no work going on due to insufficient maintenance in previous years.
