Unprofessional customer service. Management needs to police the phone lines better and ensure customers are getting professional interaction. The person I spoke to was very rude for no reason at all. As a new customer this is not a good first impression.

I'm usually not the type of person to leave a review, but I have to this time. I've noticed when it's getting close to closing time, customer service wants to keep you on hold until closing. Today I called at 3:44 to pay my bill. A lady answer the phone and immediately put me on hold. I was on hold for 5 minutes, I hung up and called again at 3:49. She picked and said "please hold" again while I asked for help, but she still put me on hold for 3 minutes. Called again at 3:52 same thing...immediately put on hold. Called 2 more times and guess what? Yep you guessed it, she put me on hold. This lady at customer service today (May 20 at 3:44 to 4:00) is a lazy woman who shouldn't be doing this job if she doesn't want to help customers. This is very shameful lazy behavior

This is not the 1st time this has happened

Website was down when they were switching to the new website and I was trying to pay my bill online because I was out of town. Since I couldn't pay online when the website was down, they charged a checking account that I didn't even know was on file since our account was made almost 5 years ago. They didn't even call or email before trying to charge that account that we no longer use, so we are stuck with triple our normal bill with fees from payment not going through. On top of that the first customer service rep was extremely defensive and said that I should have brought a check in person even though I had already stated I was out of town on a work trip. We had no issue with HNWS until now, but after today I now realize how corrupt this water company is. It's a shame that utility companies monopolize an area because I would have cancelled our water service after the first minute on the phone with them today.

After seeing the rest of the reviews on here I would not be suprised if most of them are true. They know you have no choice but to pay their made up fees or they will shut your water off until you do.

If there was any other option, I would take it. There’s no logical reason why it’s so hard to pay my bill or to set up auto pay. This is one of the worst companies and worst customer service that I have EVER worked with.

This company pretty much does whatever it wants because it has monopolized the area. Hit me with two separate tampering fees with zero context. Just a bill that stated “Tampering”. I attempted to have my property manager dispute the charges, as I live out of state, but HBWS just gave them the runaround and provided conflicting information. After being forced to pay, they hit me with a late fee and a mandatory deposit charge. Over $300. Extremely shady business practices. What they are doing to their consumer base is NOT RIGHT. Additionally, Monica was extremely rude and somewhat combative. Her customer service is terrible. HNWS needs to gut their management team. It’s unfortunate that people are forced to use their service because what their doing is unethical.

This company engages in outright theft. Outlandish connection fees, and the customer has to maintain and pay for the grinder pump for sewer- to a 1.25” sewer line no less! Then I made the mistake of filling my pool the month I connected to the sewer. I expected $100 to fill the pool which is perfectly fine and I was willing to pay. I was not fine with being charged $100 for sewer which I did not (obviously) use… since the water is in the pool! But that is policy they say. I can get a one time adjustment and never get another one, but they can’t correct a $50-75 error to make it right. I told both the reps “thou shalt not steal.” What a disgrace when it’s 100% obvious they’re stealing from their customers! Hoping they get exposed and the board cleans house!

The local community deserves much better. My water was recently turned off with what HNWS claims was a $8.50 late fee (you read that correct, 8 dollars). After spending an hour on the phone with my bank they verified that the payment was indeed sent on time through autobill pay. The worse part is HNWS didn't even bother to let me know it was being turned off. The process of paying the late fee to get water reconnected is a nightmare. All for an on-time, correctly made USAA auto bill payment.

I've had no issues using their old website for the past 2 years. Now that they switched to the new site, I cannot pay my bill online anymore and have to call each time now.
