Train 90 minutes late today 2/28/19, made me 2 hours late for work. Has been late at least 3 times this week in the morning at Kankakee station; Saturday (2 hours), and Sunday and Monday (4 hours each), causing me to miss work Monday night due to lack of rest. Deserves no stars at all.

It needs some cleaning and maybe some updated security cameras...at night it's a bit scary especially for a woman who is standing there alone and the lights are not bright AT ALL...they need brighter lights and more security personnel or at least one that rides by there during late night hours...and it's best to purchase your ticket on your smart phone cause the kiosk is not monitored and you don't want to pull out your card or money there ...be aware of your surroundings when traveling at night at this station.

It's a good place for railfanning. You can see the southern end of the Homewood CN Railroad Yard from the station. Plus part of Downtown Homewood Village close to the train station.

Currently under construction, I heard the city of Homewood has big plans for renovation on the platform and building. probably great for Amtrak and Metra commuter train service.

Great spot close to home. And I love the fact that I can pick my son up here, than having to go all the way downtown to Union Station.

If I remember correctly.. Amtrak was "having delays" and sat us here for an hour. Kinda bogus. But you can't blame the train station.
