For this to be a library it’s not quiet at all . One of the ladies on the 2nd floor won’t even give me paper instead she makes me write on square pieces paper . Are you paying for the paper? She is very unpleasant. Also yall should make sure if someone wants to study with 2 people that both of them are here. People lie all the time just to get the double space study room .

Update 9/2024: they have a drive up to drop off and pick up your books on hold. One of the blonde heavier women gave me a look and said I had to drop off my book in the other slot. Makes no sense to me why I couldn’t return my books with her as I picked up my holds. I don’t understand why it’s a problem, but she definitely made it seem as if it was an inconvenience for her. If I come inside to return my books at the same times, getting my hold, which you have done the same thing? Wouldn’t you want to make sure that your account was clear rather than waiting? I gave her my books to return anyway and she clearly wasn’t happy. Customer service works everywhere you go it doesn’t stop because you’re a librarian.

I love going to this library because it’s never overly crowded and has the most beautiful flowers in the front. They have some pretty unique items that you can check out and offer free classes for all. Definitely not a cooling center during the summer, however because it was pretty hot inside.

Great selection, helpful staff. Hours need to be updated to indicate Sundays are closed beginning memorial day through labor day, then they resume opening at 1PM.

This library offers a nice variety of activities including chess, checkers, puzzles and I'm sure other things I haven't looked into to. There's also a room with a 3 D printer and other studio equipment. I've gone in personally to use the studio equipment and the staff was lacking in any knowledge towards to equipment or the whereabouts of necessary chords for the keyboard at times. Which was okay since we figured out a lot the programs on our own. I am disappointed they never installed the sound proofing they had laying around. It would be nice for events or activities involving more noice. Over all a friendly and nice establishment.

I really want to LOVE this library. Even though it's not the closest library to me, I chose to go here because its spacious, and offers so many great programs and amenities. But people can ruin a "good" thing.

This library has some very unreasonable, and downright stupid rules and policies, mostly regarding reservations for any of the study rooms and meeting rooms. I prefer using the study rooms to get my work done because it's much more peaceful. The general public area can be quite loud and distracting. Unfortunately, you only get 3 hours in a room and you can't extend it NO MATTER WHAT. Even if all the other rooms are completely available, NOPE. Even if someone else in your party wants to reserve a different room, NOPE.

I'm not sure what the Meeting Room Nazi Manager was thinking when they came up with these rules, but they make ZERO sense.

To make matters worse, a lot of the staff ( not all of them) enforcing these rules have come off rude, impatient, and slightly hostile and aggressive when enforcing these rules. I've been pretty much yelled, with a finger wagging in my face, as if was a child being scolded. I really don't understand the hostility..... It's just the library, and literally no one is waiting to get into this room, or any other room!

My last visit, I came with 5 other colleagues for a business meeting. We were so annoyed with how we were treated. I wanted to understand the rules and asked for clarification. Again, I was given attitude and pretty much yelled at and then dismissed....with no explanation!

If someone can explain the policy in a way that I understand, with a kind demeanor, I'd be happy to come back an patronize this library. Until then, I'll be at Flossmoor!

However, on my most recent visit to my library, a worker at the circulation desk was condescending, which is generally a form of discrimination. Let us never forget that libraries are funds by residents. It should be clear to library workers that the person on the other side of the counter tax dollars pay your salary, Why because you asked for a library card.
