Ashlee from Hooked on Solar was the most informative and their price was excellent. I felt like the other companies were trying to sell me upgrades that I did not want or need at about 4X the price. As my solar panels and system gave me an issue, I felt frustrated and confused with deciding what path to follow. After calling Sunpower, I was directed to Hooked on Solar. Alfredo is the technician that went over and beyond as he's helped me to get to the bottom of an issue with my solar panels. Alfredo was extremely knowledgeaable as he asked me questions that helped him to understand what I was experiencing. Once he had an idea, he explain the components that my solar panels and system use without being on my property, and he was able to give me direction on what I could be experiencing as well as possible solutions. We realized that my system wasn't communicating to the app, and he had me sign in and out a few times while also getting things done on his side of the phone. He walked me through checking each component and he made resetting my system an easy process. Alfredo is the type of technician that should be commended because he sat through a million of my questions patiently, while answering my issue with great problem solving, experience and knowledge of solar. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help with this process. This review could never express how thankful I am that Alfredo was able to help us through this process. We're producing power, communicating and back to normal in terms of our system. My family thanks Alfredo and Hooked on Solar!

I called to get a quote on installing a Tesla powerwall. I already have a solar system. I was quoted $15,000 for a power wall 3. Tesla quoted me $21,000 for a power wall 2. Tesla includes the latest type of battery with the power wall 2 that equals 2 batteries. Hooked on solar offers a gen 3 battery (they are all gen 3) but only one battery for $15,500. For 2 batteries it was $29,000 which Tesla beats by $8000. I called my salesperson Joel and asked him about the discrepancy. He concluded they were offering 1 battery for the $15,500 and could not even compete with Tesla on their pricing. Btw Tesla offers 7.5 financing. I asked for a refund as there was no way to move forward. He said to sign a cancellation and he would look into it. Upon finally receiving cancellation docs after 2 weeks and many calls and texts … I receive a message that I will only receive $170 of my $550 deposit. This was the owners decision. I opted for them to keep all the money and I would write this review. The moral here is most contractors are still small minded and only think small and are narcissistic. Call Tesla, it will take longer but you will save 25% and deal with only professionals.

The decision to rescind was based on misleading information regarding the power wall 3 not being 3 batteries. And another suggestion to the consumers. Don’t pay using your checking acct through quick books. If I had paid with my Amex with the extra 3 percent I could’ve disputed the transaction.

Avoid this company! I had a solar expansion done $22k. Never worked correctly from day one. Not only does the new solar not work correctly but they managed to make the old system not work correctly either! Had "project manager" come out to fix what his subordinate wired incorrectly (his admission) but couldn't figure it out so he leaves and never to be heard from again! I text and call and get no answers or no reply whatsoever. Now I am left to turn to Sunpower Corp to send out their guy to fix what this company messed up. Once they get the last payment they completely ignore you. Find someone else believe me.

UPDATE: They have now tried 5 times to fix solar and its STILL not working correctly. Each person that comes says its wired wrong and attempts to wire correctly to no avail. Hard to believe a solar install company cannot figure out how to wire the solar correctly....scary. They no longer are answering my phone calls or return voicemail messages left. This company is incompetent and should not be trusted to install solar. Avoid at all costs.

UPDATE 4-30-24. It has now been 7 attempts to fix concern and still NOT FIXED. This is the most incompetent company I have ever witnessed. Each person claims to know what wrong with it then after "fixing" it they say they will monitor for 24hrs. Never hear anything back for a month then the process repeats itself. This time they even left the electrical panel open and disassembled for me to put back together myself I guess. If I could get rid of these solar panels and switch to another company I would! Avoid this company you've been warned!

They came highly rated from family but my experience is horrible. They installed panels on a roof that was 7 days old. After they completed the install I had to have the roofers come fix a ton of holes there installers put in the roof. They attempted to hide one area where they tore a shingle by putting Henry’s patch on it. (This is on a $30,000 roof). The first time they were ok to deal with paying for the repairs. But while the roofers were fixing the roof they discovered multiple shingles that the installers tore under the panels. I have been trying to get ahold of them for a month now to get them to remove the panels so my roof can get fixed before winter but nobody will call me back. There installers were incredibly unprofessional don’t show up till 10a.m and leave early, foul language with my kids running around, And absolutely horrible work done. I think this business grew to fast. I wouldn’t recommend anyone use them. Once they get your money they’re gone… it’s funny they want there payment fast from you but won’t return the favor.
