Just finished my 20' x 20' ground mounted swimming pool solar panel DIY job with a system purchased from Hot Sun Industries. I can heat my pool to 95'F without supplemental heating. Ken was very helpful. System arrived in perfect condition without a single part missing. Great experience and equipment!

We had the owner, Ken, install their solar piping system on our shingle roof a few years ago and love it!! We live in Vancouver, BC (Canada) and have been able to get our pool temperature up to 86 to 93 Fahrenheit in the summer, without a heater. It’s amazing and has made our pool season last so much longer! Ken has always been responsive when we have any questions or need extra help with anything to do with the system. In the years we’ve had the system, we’ve only had one issue when it got winterized late and a freeze valve blew. Ken replaced the freeze valve in the Spring and prevented any damage. It’s worked great since then. We would highly recommend this system. It has allowed us to use our pool from late Spring to early Fall without heater, so it’s both a cost-savings and environmentally friendly!! Kudos to Hot Sun Industries for such an innovative pool-heating system!

Living in Seattle area and having an in-ground pool, I knew that solar heating for the pool would be ideal. When it gets hot and sunny, solar pool heating works great. When it's cool and cloudy, it does not, but who wants to swim in that weather? Hot Sun caught my eye because they were based in our climate zone at that time and they would know how to design the system and know the caveats. And so they were! Ken was willing to help an eager DIY'er get started. That was 1999. Now, in 2021 we have used the pool every year and are still using most of the original installation. We replaced part of it, after a roof change, using Hot Sun's newer Power Strips, which are an upgrade from great to better. Ken has always been responsive when I've had questions, and much of what a person needs to know is in the website.

Close to 20 years and still running:
I researched many solar systems 20 years ago. Ken's was the complete package - durability, frost resistance, smart system & installation; you want a system that operates in parallel under low pressure. Bottom line, Ken is an engineer and KNOWS what he is doing. I did the install myself and it took a little bit of work - I did some modifications to have a dedicated solar return because as an engineer, I understood the reasons why it was the best way. The results have been worth it.
I'm writing this to celebrate my 20th anniversary of trouble free pool heating. I redid my roof about halfway through and Ken was there with advice on the process of moving the system off and back on after the new roof was done.
My kids are now grown up and my solar system is still going. I just wish I had aged as gracefully.

I completed a DIY installation of H2otsun Powerfin flat roof top solar system on my home in Southern California approximately four weeks ago. I thought that I would wait to write a review once the weather started getting warmer to see if the system would meet my goals. I'm very pleased to state, that the Powerfin solar is doing great. The water temperature at the bottom of the deep end of the pool is between 85-88 degrees. I have not had to augment the heating with the gas heating system. With Ken Wright's upfront guidance, I was able to complete the installation in 5 days. The main reason that I chose the Powerfin system was based upon Ken's video on Flat Roof Installation. This flat roof design, using ballasts, was perfect. There was no roof penetration so I didn't need to worry about future roof leaks. Ken was also very helpful during the installation as I did have several detailed installation questions. He was very good at responding to emails and telephone calls. I read the negative review and I'm sorry that they had a bad experience. I believe that if the installer had not had experience with this system, he should have rethought taking the job.

We bought Solar pool heating panels from Ken Wright, the owner and CEO of this business. The company has 2 Southern California addresses, which are essentially shipping addresses only. The company, Hot Sun Industries is actually based in Canada, which was not disclosed to us by Ken Wright.
Ken Wright referred us to his "contractor" David Nielsen in Phoenix, AZ - only to learn later that David is no contractor. Ken Wright had only given phone instructions to David Nielsen, as David later told us, David had NEVER received any actual training on how to install the solar panels by Ken Wright. Ken Wright refused to come out to oversee that installation, even though we asked him to.
To make a long story short, the solar panels installation should have taken a few weeks at best, instead David's trial and error installation took over a year, was NEVER DONE CORRECTLY AND OUR POOL WAS NEVER HEATED.
We finally had to uninstall the panels. Ken Wright's lack of honoring his supposed 20 year warranty, his refusal to come out and oversee the installation, the faulty installation by David Nielsen cost us $6,500 of irretrievable financial losses. When we requested our money back from Ken Wright and asked him to arrange for picking up his materials, his response was to sue him. Hot Sun Industries and Ken Wright are the absolutely WORST AND MOST UNRELIABLE, LESS THAN HONEST BUSINESS WE HAVE EVER DEALT WITH
