This company just wants to your money and they don't care about giving a good service. When you have a leak their app doesn't even let you know that your water bill is higher than usual even if you activate the alarm. They don't care about you as customer.

So I have water well and I have to pay for filters and all that stuff to get rid of the iron and get good water and this “American Water” company charging me $1,075 for two months when I’ve been living here for only one month so they are charging me since the day I called them to transfer the service under my name!! that is so wrong why I don’t understand why they are charging me 3 weeks before my moving day? And I get water if I have electricity but we got an outage because of the storm and no water for 4 day and I still have to pay that much money!!
That’s stealing!!!😡
I called customer service and the person who answered was yawning the whole time!!!

We were told in our town last fall, we were being switched to their services. In addition we received a letter stating for 1 year we would receive a 10$ monthly credit to offset the future increase due to them upgrading the town lines. Our bill went from 75$ a month to 114$, sone savings and hidden lie number one. Second came when we were told we would receive a call on the date of our private property lines, failed again as they arrived no notice. Can't wait for the third lie of them repairing yard and drive way damages.

What a nightmare.

Last week we received a notice that they'd be shutting our water off, which came as a surprise, because we've paid all our bills. After sitting on the phone with them for three hours while they tried to make sense of their own shoddy record-keeping, they finally figured out that somehow our payments had been getting received but never applied to our account. We were assured that all our payments would be transferred to our account, and our water would not be shut off.

Fast-forward to a week later and, lo and behold, our water has been shut off. Now here I am, without water, through no fault of my own, taking time off work so I can sit on hold and eventually maybe try to get them to come fix their own mistakes that keep raining down on me.

It's pretty comical that America water can go shut water off to an entire apartment complex because of previous owner no payment and then say they can't get there till tomorrow and leave an entire building with no water. What a joke of a company.
