I hired this company to redo the duct work in my home as the old duct work was bad and incorrectly installed. 2 people came and did the job in roughly 2 -3 days. I thought the job was done correctly, until I started looking at it. I was very wrong as I had another AC / Heating person come and look at it. They used flex ducting where it wasn't needed, which slowed down the air flow to a crawl. They barely taped the joints only what I could see, then after looking at the plenum where they attached the old and new 6" inch pipes nothing was taped and there were gaps were you could flash a light through and clearly see tons of light. There was leakage all over the place! The efficiency of the whole system was compromised.

The other AC/Heating company was quite surprised and blown away on how the system was installed. Luckily the evaluation was free and didn't have to spend any more money on the project
that should have been completed correctly. The air flow out of the vents in the home was quite pathetic and slow, I checked the temp of farthest duct AC temp and it was 72.1F after
roughly of 1 hour of the AC running. I decided to do some reading and research, after such a bad job. Several videos and articles and 4 weeks later, I wound up replacing all the
flex ducting with hard 6" inch pipe and bought several rolls of rated AC foil tape and began taping the plenum, joints, and every seam. After fixing all the issues, the flow
was double what it was. I have started researching insulating the duct work and will start that job in a few weeks. There were some existing issues with my HVAC system as the AC unit is a little small for the square footage of my home, but now that I have resolved those leaks the system is running extremely well and appears to cool quickly.

I am going to insulate the pipes myself, which was not in the initial estimate, but was told this was not a needed feature as it doesn't really matter. Incorrect!
This prevents condensation on the pipes and the plenum which causes heating and cooling loss as well and possibly mold, but this seems to be an outlying case for most.

** Update, I wrapped all the pipes with approved AC insulation, wrapped the plenum and all supply lines, now the AC temp out of the farthest duct is now at 60.6 degrees. The unit is running only about 5 minutes to cool the whole house and is blowing extremely well. I would recommend anybody that is considering doing any kind of AC work do your research and read up a little bit as I have learned a lot, which has helped me spot incorrect work. I am going back and taping the return lines to keep any errant dust from entering the system as well. I am not an AC expert so take what I say with a grain of salt or ignore me completely.

I would not recommend Johnson's as I had to spend more money to fix the job they botched and do the work myself. Don't waste your money and time on this company as far as my opinion goes, but it's your wallet. The thing that really got me was the fact that they did the job and then when I asked to fix it, it was another fee and even the representative inspected the work they performed, agreed it should not have been done this way but would not fix the spotty work. They other factor that got me is the copper pipe outside was exposed in certain areas which also reduces the cooling of the unit, that was never addressed and I will fix this myself. Don't bother there should be better alternatives to Johnson's.

I'd stay away unless you want to be charged for 0 work done on the issue you actually called about. If you want to throw money away on someone just guessing what the issue is without testing anything and then telling you to just keep an eye out and fix it yourself (I don't think blowing thru a straw into the condensate drain is actually the best way to unclog it btw.. neither did the other HVAC tech that I had to call that charged half the price and actually solved the problem and made it possible for me to fix myself in the future) then by all means give em a call!

There extend warranty is hard to get when needed they keep putting it off and it may not be made good for years after needed they also charge 70 after spending hundreds or thousands with them
