Installing a geothermal system with King Energy was an excellent experience from start to finish. Val at the main office was very responsive from the get go and great at getting everything rolling as well as with helping with rebate info along the way. Scot was very thorough, knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to work with throughout the entire process and designed a fantastic system. Mike, who installed the ductwork, was also professional, kind, and accommodating of my schedule throughout the installation and did a top quality job. My system works great and my house is now consistently comfortable in both summer and winter. It is also a rewarding feeling to no longer rely on oil. I will be installing solar panels in the near future to further minimize my use of non-renewable energy and look forward to the additional benefits of my geothermal system as part of this combination. I highly recommend King Energy if you are interested in switching to geothermal!

I used King Energy to remove my older heating and cooling system and equipment and upgrade it with a new gerthermal heat pump system for my existing 2,000 sq ft home. They installed a Hydron Module Revolution2 (HYT036) 3-ton heat pump, 2 speed unit which supports both heating and cooling under full and part load operating conditions. The total scope included delivery, installation and testing of the new equipment, inculding running a new high voltage electrical hook-ups and low voltage connections, duct work connections and ground loop connections. I thought the complete installation would take a whole day but they scoped and plan the job to perfection and they were done in a few hours. As far as the new heating/cooling system, all I can say is I love it. It is much quieter than the previous system, seems to run less and it maintains a much tighter temperature band in the house. I think this was a big upgrade from what I had before.

They also replaced the old thermostat, which was 15-year old technology, with the Honeywell Home VisionPRO 8000 Smart device (TH8321WF1001) that syncs up with your home WIFI and displays system status on your smartphone.

The job also included replacing my hot water heater which had developed a leak with a new unit, Steibel-Eltron Accelera 300 E DHW heat pump water heater with 90 gallon output capacity. As part of that install they got rid of a "2nd" 40 gallon electric hot water heater that was coming off the geothermal unit and replaced the primary 80 gallon hot water heater with a new unit. The new hot water heater seems to be doing much better as well delivering slightly hotter water and plenty of it.

All and all I'm very pleased with how everything is working.The workmanship was top-notch with clean running plumbing and electrical lines, previous equipment was removed and disposed of and the work site left clean. Lastly they made it very easy for me to submit the rebate forms by partially filling them out and provding all the required information and documents.

Terrible experience trying to have them come give me a quote on a new system. I have an older system they say they no longer service so I need to put in a new system. This is going on the third year with them trying to get them to come give me a quote. They have a monopoly on the area and terribly under staffed. They don't have enough staff for maintenance work or even quotes. I wouldn't bother with a geo until there are more companies to choose from. These people are moody and refuse to answer their phones. I have been able to talk with them on occasion and was told they don't have the staff to help me and would get back to me. They never did. I contacted them back 6 months after hearing nothing and they finally were able to schedule me another 6 months out with a broad window of time. On the day of just before the window opened I had to run to the school to drop off my child's lunch that she forgot. This guy came early, got no answer at the door, called me to say he was here. I told him I'd be there in a few I just ran to the school but he left. Then refused to answer calls or messages for hours. I finally got a message back that he has 10 service calls and won't tell me if he will come back today or reschedule. The office lady says I need to talk to him and she can't help me. What awful service. Place is too busy for your business. Try to go somewhere else. There are a few other hvac places. My pellet stove is working great and I don't even really need the geo back up that I have. The geo is an energy hog and will increase your electric bill to 3 times what it currently is (mine went to $400 a month when I run it for heat with thermostat set to 65). Vs paying $400 for a pallet of pellets that last all season.

Update: after leaving this review over these incidences they called us back an verbally yelled at us. They refuse to come give us a quote for a new system and says that they will "bash us back".

All of our interactions with King Energy have been nothing but positive and made us feel like we were valued customers. The few times we have had to call them for anything, they are always very responsive and go above and beyond. The most recent call involved a service they no longer offer but because I was concerned about just picking another contractor off the internet, they came out and took a look, made some recommendations and then agreed to take care of it for us anyways. A few days later, the work was completed and at a very reasonable price. I can't say enough about happy we are with this company! Our geothermal system is now 14 years old and still running great. A big thank you to Bob, who is in charge of their Service/Repairs department.

We had our existing cooling and heating system replaced with a Geothermal System from King Energy. It was a fantastic experience overall! The system works very well, they were willing and able to do a customized plan that worked for our needs and within our space. I would highly recommend anyone that wants a geothermal system to reach out to King.

I contacted five companies and asked for estimates for changing my oil furnace heat for a geothermal system. One company never responded to my request. Two companies sent a representative to my home, looked around, took measurements and left with promises of written estimates in the immediate future. I never heard from them again. A third company did a “remote” assessment involving pictures and questions I was asked to answer. This company did provide an estimate that was increased one week later by $12K I was told this was because it was initially thought that my existing ducting could be used. Apparently their engineer took another week to conclude that my ductwork was “insufficient” and would have to be entirely replaced. In re-reading the written estimate, I had to wonder what other increases would be necessary as the project proceeded. I did not accept this proposal because I was hoping to get an estimate from King Energy before I made a decision. By this point, I was questioning whether or not going geothermal at this time was a good idea or not.
I had been very impressed with King Energy’s website. I felt that there was a great deal of information provided, and that this information was provided in an honest, forth-right manner. When Scott came to my home to assess my situation and calculate how much it would cost to install a geothermal system, I found him to be direct, very informative, professional and interpersonally pleasant. I believed that in using King Energy for this project, I was putting myself in good hands. Once I made a decision to proceed, every member of the King Energy team seemed to line up to make this process as seamless as possible. Scott and Val were available to answer questions and concerns and within weeks, I had a brand new, eco-responsible heating, air conditioning, and water heating system. Val has made the process of applying for rebates and tax incentives a breeze! Scott had the electrician back out to my house within two days to sort out an issue with the system and my back-up generator. Everyone associated with King Energy acted with professionalism and respect for my property. I hope to be able to say in a year’s time that having King Energy design and install a geothermal ground heating system at my home was not only a wise ecological decision, but a wise financial one as well.

Hands down, King Energy is super professional and a pleasure to deal with. We have a geothermal system and the heating was not working, on the first very cold day of the season. I left a message and emailed Val, she was quick to respond and within 1 day, Scot and his technician were at our house and fixed the problem. He had the part on hand, saving time and expense of a return visit. We live over 1 hour from his business and he still made us a priority. My husband and I are beyond grateful for such reliable and intelligent business owners. They deserve 10 stars.
