This was the best part of our cruise! The owner and her daughter were so kind and gave us lots of great advice! They even have a tour guide and binoculars they provide for you to use along the south klondike highway. The car was in great shape and very clean! We absolutely loved the drive!

Upon watching numerous videos of Alaska in preparation for our trip, we came across Nicole’s video of driving the mustang to emerald lake. We have an ID4 and the mach-e has always been of interest. Rather than deal with a crowded train or bus, we opted to rent.

We sailed on the Norwegian Encore and rented the Mustang Mach-E from Klondike Electric Cars. The car was beautiful, clean and ready to go! The binder was nice to reference and the binoculars were a bonus for us to both look at the mountains (only took one pair of the ship). Emerald lake was our favorite, but Carcross desert was also pretty cool for being in the mountains.

We would definitely rent a car here again in future visits! Very friendly and they do a walk through of the car. We recommend stopping at Lucy’s bakery next door for some road trip snacks. (Scones and cinnamon roll were excellent)

PS Who wouldn’t enjoy being greeted by a couple of goldens!?

THE best choice we made on our Alaska cruise! I read some iffy reviews on the sardine can train tours and rolled the dice on renting a Mustang MachE EV for the day… WOW, it was AWESOME!

The YouTube video first sold me on the independence and flexibility you get with your own car and then the customer service! This is a local “mom and pop” business and they are extremely helpful and welcoming. From emailing Nicole, the Owner with some goofy tourist questions, to getting a thoughtfully packed lunch and warm welcome from Jessica, we were more than impressed and lucky to go this route for our day in Skagway. The photo opportunities and memories we got would have never been possible on a train with hundreds of strangers.

Pro tip: GO AS EARLY IN THE AM AS POSSIBLE! We got the Mustang at 8am and hit the road towards Emerald Lake. We beat most of the buses and tour groups to the stopping points and we got within 3-5 feet of bears feeding on the side of the road. Mountain Goats also were found along the mountainsides. Something you won’t get on some train car filled with strangers… When we got to Carcross we had all the time we wanted to stroll the town and met nothing but friendly shop owners who were not worn out yet by the nonstop buses and trains for the day.

When we got back to Skagway we met Uncle Mikey when we returned the car. He was super friendly and gave some tips on where to stop on our walk back to the cruise ship. By far the best choice for anyone who is looking for that independence and freedom from the tour groups. We had plenty of time to follow the provided binder of stop by stop self guided tour with a few hours to spare. We also switched drivers on the way back to get a chance to soak in all the amazing scenery, and there were a TON of pull outs and photo stops.

I would highly recommend booking an electric vehicle with Klondike Electric Cars! This was my second time in Skagway. I had done another tour before but wanted to see more of the Klondike highway and see Emerald Lake. Nicole was so helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable, and overall just a wonderful person to do business with. We received a detailed navigation guide and video ahead of time to help with the drive. There was also a detailed binder in the car of the drive as well as binoculars. All of these tools helped make the drive so enjoyable and go smoothly. Nicole also provided us with two car seats for my children. The drive to Emerald Lake was one of my all time favorite activities on my Alaskan trip, and I couldn’t recommend this company more! Thank you Nicole!

Absolutely pleasant experience with Nicole and her electric car rental service. She was very responsive and easy to communicate with, and the rental process was painless. We were on our way before we knew it! The cars were clean and rhe drive was beautiful. The app featuring some of Nicole's favorite stops was very informative and fun! I would definitely recommend driving up the highway with one of her wonderful cars.

Nicole and George are just incredibly friendly people in general and renting from them was one of the best decisions I made on our first time visiting Alaska. After stumbling upon a Youtube video where some folks rented this car from them I immediately ran over to their website to check and see if it was still available for our upcoming cruise and pounced on the opportunity. The car itself in really fun to drive and since they include plenty of range in the rental it was so nice not having to worry about "filling it up" like a normal rental. The drive up the White Pass Highway into Yukon was gorgeous. For the first 15 minutes or so it was dense fog and we worried we might not see anything all day but as soon as we got up over a ridge it was sunny and clear on the other side. The beauty of renting a car for the day is that you can stop whenever you want and explore at your own pace and while I'm sure the train is incredible, the highway follows it along the way and there really weren't many other vehicles on the road since it's fairly remote. We had coffee in Carcross, met sled dog puppies, and stopped at beautiful turnouts where pictures won't do it justice.

My partner and I rented a vehicle and it exceeded our expectations. We drove an electric mustang that was immaculate. The ride was smooth and quiet but had nothing on the VIEWS! The owner and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable of the area, they have great recommendations. They also provide a pair binoculars, which came in hand! 10/10 recommend to rent a vehicle here and take the drive! Oh and get tickets for the suspension bridge, which she also sells 🙂

Best money I spent on the cruise. Very good bang for the buck when you have a family compared to paying per person for cruise excursions. We did the WPYR train as well in the AM. I honestly preferred the car. Seamless pick up and drop off. Very informative staff. Very nice car. Great road. Have kids and was great to tour at our own pace. We were there early May and Emerald lake was thawed but others had variable amounts of ice on them.
