It's a great place to live. A gated lake community with security staff. Fishing and boating are spectacular.

Laker Summerset has all the amenities you can possibly think of: a 275 acre lake, two beaches and two marinas, a 75 site campground, a swimming pool, a spray park, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, a baseball diamond, a basketball court, disc golf, bocca ball courts, a walking path, 40 parks, several of which are adjacent to the lake (a few have covered facilities), a club house you can rent and boat / RV storage areas, etc.

The community has 2300 lots with only 1350 houses, so the density is great. The HOA manages the community with its own staff, so service and support are on site and responsive.

All the utilities, water, sewer, natural gas, and cable / internet are buried. No telephone poles to block the views of our beautiful lake.

The county line runs through the community, so you can choose to live in Winnebago or Stephenson County. This provides you with a choice of schools and county services.

There are plenty of companies to provide all the services and support you need. Durand and Davis are just a few minutes away and have doctors, dentists, banks, barbers, hair salons, restaurants, gas stations, several churches, a car dealership, a grocery store, a Dollar General, a park, a health club, a grade school and a high school, etc. The metro areas of Rockford, Freeport, and Monroe are about 30 minutes away and have almost everything you could want.

No stoplights within 15 miles make travel fast and enjoyable

Liked this place so much that we bought a house here. Lots of activities and clubs and, of course, there's the lake. Swimming pool, beaches, boating and so much more.

My favorite place in the whole world is right here at Lake Summerset - it's a peaceful, quiet place with friendly neighbors and children that wave hello to you as you pass them on the street, with plenty of activities for the children in the summertime so they aren't bored to death! The man-made lake is nice as well, and an outdoor swimming pool to use if the lake is too big for you, or not your thing. Nice place to visit, but an even better place to live!

Love our lakehouse. Amazing fishing. Convenient amenities like the pool, beaches, frisbee golf, and pickle ball/tennis courts. Tons of birds including bald eagles. Fun boating and tubing. The lake is never crowded. Plus a close drive from the Chicago suburbs.

To close a whole lake to the public because of a gated community is a little unreasonable but to charge your "members" and guests too fish? You can keep your precious little lake lol
