City of Lakeland came out to our house and replaced our water meter with a digital meter. In the process, the subcontractor that they hired broke a coupling on the side going up to our house. Since it was on the house side I was told it’s on me to fix. I called Gillum-Waddell plumbing and they were out same day, fixed it fast and we couldn’t be happier…with Gillum Waddell Plumbing. The City of Lakeland and their subcontractors on the other hand sucks.

They just worked on a house next to us, no one told us anything but they apparently worked on a water main because our toilets are all making crazy sounds with brown water coming up from all sources. Not one person said a single word to us about what was happening. I tried calling their help number and it hung up on us and told us to call back. We may be in a boil period or something and not one person told us anything.

I continue to appreceiate all of the hard work the Water Utility does to provide Lakeland with clean, reliable, and affordable drinking water and wastewater. They are also proactive and communicative.

Lakeland's water started tasting and smelling bad a couple of more years ago. I have always used a Brita filter system. Even this now did nothing. I switched to another filter system, Epic, which has helped. But now, thanks to the news, we understand why our water is so bad. DuPont and 3M "Forever Chemicals," is at least to blame, and those at the department who were foolish enough to contract with them. The same knuckleheads, no doubt, for adding fluoride to our precious water. Insanity!

Second time I had to take a bird bath because I didn’t get a notification about maintenance going on, you should at least give some notice to your customers before turning off their water supply. I had to use gallons of my stored drinking water to shower can I get reimbursed ?

We had a water main break on our street on June 27. City was out to stop the leak in 2 hours. Then they're back on July 11th to repair the road(two weeks when there are shortages of supplies). A big kudos.

They do not turn off water after it has been running for 3 years. Had to pay 472,000 dollars for my monthly water bill. I normally pay about 100 dollars.

There is a waste water lift station on Carpenter's Way by Wedgewood golf by the green across from the clubhouse past the archway. It has been going off for hours. Possibly a low lift station tank or something
