The only place I stay when in Pacific Grove area. The rooms are always clean. Love the ref. and microwave in room and the bed is comfortable. The staff team members are helpful and friendly and outstanding asset to organization. The breakfast is delicious, and we love the outside fireplace to sit and relax. And only a block walks to beach. See you soon on next visit.

Room 208 is on the top floor, quite spacious with vaulted ceiling. Small balcony that overlooks the property edge and cemetery, which actually is a nice view. Big TV that we did not use. Water pressure in shower is quite low. Room was very clean, smelled a bit of cleaning products. Staff is very responsive. I couldn't find a hair dryer, and they brought one right away. Our main reasons for staying were dog-friendly, close to our family in area. We saw several dogs during our stay, and they were all very well-mannered 🙂

Would not book again. Lots of potential. However, the rooms are in dire need of basic maintenance. Walls are dirty and badly damaged.
Pros: fantastic proximity to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Very quiet. Parking lot seemed secure with no issues.
Cons: bathroom had a LOT of ants. Front desk clerk was pleasant when addressing the following issues.
Sent Maintenence to wipe them up with Lysol wipes as I opted to not have them spray a bug repellent and have to deal with fumes/smell all night.
Couple hours later there was a VERY unpleasant STRONG sewer smell coming from the bathroom. Front desk clerk, “probably from hair backing up the drain”. Allowed us to move to a new room.
New room.: TV remote control was broken (battery compartment had a broken piece). By this time in the evening did not want to call yet again. Maybe that’s on me? I did let front desk clerk know when checking out in the morning.
New room also had a thick layer of spider webs along the exposed ceiling beams right above the bed. Was also missing the fold out suitcase rack/holder that the first room had. Again, I did not call to request one. Just really wanted to get some rest.

If you're looking for a cozy getaway that's just a short walk from Asilomar Beach, this is it! The staff is incredibly kind and friendly. You will be pleasantly surprised by the delicious hot breakfast they provide as well - we were not expecting that! They are clearly in the middle of some minor renovation, which is typical for any property, but it did not affect the quality of our stay whatsoever. The rooms are large, the bed was comfy (not lumpy), and the firepits created a great hangout spot to wind down in the evening. Definitely found our new go-to place!

The rooms are nothing like what is online. To be clear they are nothing like what is represented on line. The pictures look bright and clean and beautiful. The room we had was dark and it smelled old and mildewy. The carpet was old the lap shades had all kinds of stains on it. The walls! There were gouges scratches and all kinds of marks on the wall. I felt dirty just being in there. I didn't mind the view of the cemetery that was fine. But just the general filth was too much. The website also claimed a nice made to order breakfast but when I asked we were told it was breakfast in a bag with coffee and tea. There was no breakfast bar like the website showed. Honestly, we booked another room at Hotel Carmel and while it's costly for one night it's leaps and bounds better and worth the cost

We have been staying here on and off for 27 years. This last time was awful. It seems as if the management has changed. We were told upon check in that there would be no room service whatsoever, if we needed towels to come down to the office and ask for them. We were there for 5 nights. We got 2 towels on check in. Walking in the room, it smelled, and was visually run down. Walls scuffed, carpet dirty, ceiling fans squeaky and not working well. Bedding had hair and stains so I had to send my husband down for several sets of clean sheets to redo the bed myself. No screens on window so bugs flying in if you need to have the window open for air circulation. Moldy shower and window sills. Ice machine filthy, you are responsible for emptying your trash daily. The location is ideal, you're a mile from Asilomar minutes from the beach and it's in a quiet neighborhood. It does back to a cemetery if that would be a bother to anyone, it never was a bother to us. There are however many other places to stay that I think are much cleaner and up kept.

Hello management of lighthouse Lodge and cottages. My partner and I stayed at your hotel for our honeymoon we were supposed to be staying seven nights but we left after one night. The room was absolutely disgusting. There were blood stains on the wall, spiders on the wall, the floors were not even swept or mopped, there were fingerprints on the mirror, the drinking glasses that were provided were not even cleaned or sanitized. They still had smudges all over them and dirt. The curtain rod was broken, and falling out of the wall, the heater did not work. You guys have a radiator in the room. The sliding door and window and window were broken and would not lock as well. This room was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable and for that reason we are choosing to leave and go to a different hotel. We had to waste one whole day of our honeymoon to try and find a different hotel, which is ridiculous. We went to speak to the front desk Receptionist, and she was unaccommodating. (CJ). They wanted to charge us for two nights, even though we only spent one night there. This is absolutely not customer service.) This is unacceptable. Please Upon check-in, this is not what we were promised for our honeymoon. Get better housecleaning staff that know to clean a room properly and professionally. This is absolutely one of the worst stays I have ever experienced, and we will not be returning.

Booked this online and it was one of the cottages. I was dubious at first as the place looks very old and run down. However I was pleasantly surprised as it is clean and very accommodating with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. There is a complimentary breakfast every morning in the office and lots of fresh coffee. The price is a real steal for the area as you can walk to the lighthouse or the golf course. Great walkable location.
