Right Now, I Feel Like Canceling Their Service! This Company Took Over The City Of Waukegan Since December 2023, And Things Went DownHill Until This Year Came In. The Recycling Has Been Coming Extremely Late Non stop, And It's Getting Out Of Hand. We Never Had This Issue With Waste Management, But As Soon As LRS Decided To Take Over. Now Our Recycling Is Picked Up Not Until 2PM Or 5PM. The Recycling Is Supposed To Be Picked Up Between 7:30AM to 11:00AM. You Guys Need To Do Better. I Don't Have Any Issues With The Drivers, I Think They Are Amazing, They Just Need To Start Picking The Recycling Up Early.

Update 1/3:
I emailed them as requested in their reply to my review. Never heard anything back. Dumpster hadn’t been replaced as of this morning so I called them. They said the request for replacement was completed. Well, if it was, they replaced the wrong dumpster. And the best they could promise was a call back in 24-48 business hours. All that after I’ve been living with leaking trash next to my car and rats running across my feet when I put something in the dumpster.

Update 12/30: I added a photo of the rats I discovered near the dumpster on 12/29, the day after a rat ran out of the dumpster and across my foot.

The condo association where I’ve lived for the last 17 years currently uses LRS for waste management services. My parking space is next to one of our dumpsters. On 10/31/24 I reported to our property manager that there was trash leaking out of the bottom of the dumpster. She obtained board approval for a replacement dumpster and requested it from LRS shortly thereafter. Here it is 12/28/24 and we still don’t have a new dumpster. There are multiple holes in the bottom where it has rusted through and there’s trash slop all over the ground next to where I exit my vehicle. Then, just this morning, when I was putting trash in the dumpster , an animal ran out of the bottom of the dumpster and across my foot.

In addition to regularly placing our dumpster on the neighboring property, placing so that the plastic lid will open onto my car, etc. LRS’s negligence has now created a very unsanitary situation for myself and my fellow homeowners.

Having been a property manager in the recent past, I can say based on experience that none of the other prominent waste management companies in the Chicago area provide such shoddy service as LRS.

On Tuesday January 14th we had a scheduled furniture delivery and the delivery truck was parked in front of our home with 2 men delivering furniture. The recycling truck came down the street and could not get through so the driver starts honking his horn repeatedly apparently expecting the driver or his helper who were just inside the doorway dealing with a couch to come running out the door and immediately move the truck because he had to get through. They hurried as fast as they could and came out and moved the truck in less than 10 minutes so he could get through. After moving it and the driver got through, the police show up because the LRS driver apparently called because he was inconvenienced. Are you freaking kidding me ! You actually called 911 to report the street being blocked by a delivery truck because you could not get your garbage truck through for a few minutes! And then he did not even take the recycling. Talk about a real jerk. Spoke to Ida from LRS on the phone to see just what this drivers problem was. She said she would pass it along to a supervisor and asked if I would like a call back from a supervisor.
I said I would. Its now been 7 hrs later and still no call. Way to go customer service. You pick up garbage and your company is garbage, maybe you should read your reviews.

It has now been just under 24 hours and still no phone call from a supervisor. I guess they condone this type of behavior from their employees and allow them to act like an ass blowing their horn repeatedly in the street like a spoiled child who did not get their way. What really amazes me is that this truck it turns out was not even collecting trash, he was merely driving down the street. As soon as he turned the corner down the block it was clear to see that there was a delivery truck so he could have chosen the next street to go down, but no I am from LRS and I demand to go down this street so you better move for me.

Switched over to a larger trash container (they charge 25.00 for the switch) they picked up the old container on a Monday but never left my replacement. Called customer service numerous times only to be told various dates when they'll deliver my container. Called again this morning only to be told it will be Monday...7 days without a trash container...I should just drop off all my garbage at the Village of Gurnee!

So where do we sign up for the class action lawsuit for services we are paying for but are NOT receiving? They pick up the recycling but not the garbage. When they do come get it, I'm suppose to buy stickers for excess bags? Nah, where's this lawsuit?

They skip recycling pick up and has been missing pick up in skokie area. I called the company and they just take a missing pick up report but do nothing. This is the 2nd time this happened. Thurday is our pick up time. I will talk to the village to investigate this because we are wasting money for no service

My condo building pays to have our trash and recycling dumpsters emptied three times per week. The weeks in which we actually receive the full services that we pay for are a minority. LRS routinely skips pick ups for no discernable reason and then tries to charge us overflow fees for the overflows that they cause by not emptying the dumpsters when scheduled. They refused to empty the trash dumpster today because they claim it is too heavy. It's too heavy because they skipped all of our pick ups this week!

I can't tell if this is intentional fraud or just a completely inept lack of quality control. I do know that the condo association is out hundreds (or thousands) of dollars every year by paying for services that we can't receive. I'm still trying to encourage the association and management company to stop wasting money and hire someone who can actually provide the services that they promise.

Do yourself a favor and stay away. It sucks to feel like your money has been stolen.

If I could give it negative stars I would. Had a contract for over 10 years. Not easy to get a hold of your rep. They never call back. Tried to cancel out service because we moved and the whole process was just frustrating. Cmon LRS! We live in the 21st century!!!!
