Worst apartment complex I have ever lived.
1-Elevators were out of the service for months.
2- Parking garage gate was broken for months. People from outside were getting in building, vandalized our personal properties and leave without getting caught.
3- Package loss are more frequent since gate is broken.
4- Anytime rain or snow, in front of our unit is flooded with blue colored water and almost all over of parking garage ceiling are leaking and unsafe.
5- Frequently experiencing the water shutdown.
6- Frequently experiencing the power shutdown.
7- Small Marijuana (which is against apartment policy) all the time and exposing family and children to drug.
8- Waking up at middle of the night because of barking dogs.
9- Almost every weekend we were experiencing disturbances nosing from neighbors late night parties.
10- To experience without providing adequate and basic services and safety.

I have lived in this community for 3 years and have had a really great experience. I leave 5 stars for two reasons (even though I wouldn't necessarily describe the complex as "perfect").

First: the management and maintenance team are fantastic. Between Francesca the manager, Amber the agent I interface with most, or the any of repair people that come through from time to time, we have never had a bad human experience.

Second: I have had no major issues my entire time living here. When I say major, I mean I've never had any major problems that would be attributable to the complex itself. Obviously there have been power outages (storms happen) and out of service amenities, but these things happen. I don't count these against them very harshly as the management team is very communicative about the problems as they arise, and give the information they can when it's available.

To speak on some of the minor grievances I have seen and heard: the biggest issue this complex has is the people that live in it. Whether it's neighbors smoking in their apartment (weed or cigarettes), dogs peeing in the elevator, or broken stairs, these are all things I've seen/experience.

The complex regularly sends out emails (I've seen two this morning) basically begging people to clean up after their dogs, and to stop smoking in the units. On the former, they are doing their best to fight it by replacing the rug in the elevator with new floor mats (there is a new one as of this week, thank you for that). I can't say I know exactly what the plan is regarding the smoking, but I also don't know what you can do about that beyond getting law enforcement involved. I can also say, regarding the stairs, as of this week they have contractors on site repairing them.

On the subject of repairs, I have seen consistent evidence that this community is trying it's best to get everything into top shape. Since I moved in, they completed an overhaul of the ceiling of both garages, significantly improving both the visual appearance and also the lighting. They have also completely redone the flooring itself on both levels, filled in cracks, etc. The stairs are just the latest in a series of renovations that the complex is undergoing.

The biggest and most frustrating issue, personally, has been the elevator. It has not gone out many times, but there was a period of time near unto a month where both elevators in building 1500 were out of service. I do know that some disabled folk live in the building, and I can only imagine the hardship that put on them. I'm fortunate enough to be able to just take stairs, but it was a greivance. It's not anymore, they're working now, but it did happen.

I have seen others describe an issue of cockroaches. I can personally say I never experienced ANY bug issues. I may be simply a lucky outlier, or it may not be as "complex-wide" as described. ANY bugs in ANY unit is terrible, but since I have not experienced it, I can't count it toward my own rating. Your mileage may vary.

Lastly, but certainly not of least importance, I have felt very good about the pricing for the most part. As I've been here for three years, I've only had to renew twice. In both occasions, my unit only went up marginally. Less than $100 each time. I can't say I find that particularly offensive so again, points to the complex.

There are other minor elements that I could touch on, but they are all very minor or subjective. I wish the kitchen sink had a pullout faucet, the handles and knobs on some doors are loose, some shelves are bowed by time. Nothing is broken or unusable, so again, no points lost over these items.

If you have gotten this far, you clearly care a lot about where you want to live. For that person, I think this is a great place to live.

I like living in MAA Tysons. The location is great and the leasing office staff are responsive and friendly. Talat was the person who was giving me the tour at the beginning. She very helpful to get my application approved. Talat helped me to input the right information in my application, which I didn't do in a right way. I'd highly recommend MAA Tysons to anyone, who is interested in renting here.

I've been a tenant at MAA Tysons Corner for almost a year and have been consistently impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Their responsiveness and attitude make a positive impact on the living experience.

However, I’m unable to give a full 5-star rating due to a few notable concerns:

Maintenance tends to be slow and inconsistent, with some requests taking longer than expected to be resolved.

The community amenities—including the gym, pool, restrooms, elevators, and tenant garage—are below expectations for a property in this price range and location.

The interior quality of the apartments feels outdated, lacking features like granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. There are also visible signs of wear and tear on the walls and ceilings.

Most importantly, I have safety concerns. The fact that anyone can access the community, enter the building, and use the elevators without any access control or visible security cameras is troubling. This lack of monitoring makes residents feel vulnerable, especially during late hours.

**This Property Has Declined Considerably!**

I’ve called this place home for several years, but what once felt like a comforting sanctuary has become a frustrating ordeal. Over the past two years, the downward spiral has become painfully evident, leaving residents like myself grappling with deteriorating conditions.

The hallways, once cared for, are now marred by unsightly stains and an unpleasant odor, primarily due to dogs urinating without oversight. The floors are worn out and grim, accentuating the neglect of common areas.

The courtyards, originally designed to provide a peaceful retreat, now emit a constant stench of marijuana smoke, all but obliterating any trace of fresh air. The atmosphere here is far from the tranquil haven it once was.

Noise levels have reached intolerable heights—it's impossible to escape the sounds of neighbors’ footsteps, the creaking of their furniture, and, even worse, their snoring echoing through the walls all night long.

The situation grows even more distressing with a cockroach infestation, which has taken up residence in the cracks and crevices, sending chills down my spine with every encounter.

The garages, which should be a safe haven for vehicles, carry a noxious blend of urine and feces odors instead. Unfortunately, homeless individuals have sought refuge there, treating the area as their personal restroom and further exacerbating the already concerning hygiene issues.

Trash accumulates, visualizing management’s blatant disregard for cleanliness and upkeep. The lack of attention is startling; garbage is left to fester, creating an unbearable environment.
Moreover, the elevators are a recurring disappointment; breakdowns have become frequent, leaving residents stranded and frustrated. Maintenance seems almost nonexistent, as urgent requests linger unresolved for weeks, contributing to an ever-growing list of grievances.

To compound the disheartening reality, the management remains alarmingly unresponsive, indifferent to residents' legitimate concerns. It’s painfully clear that Post Tysons Corner needs effective management—one that will confront these pressing issues head-on and restore the dignity this property once held.

If you value cleanliness, safety, and peace of mind, I cannot stress enough the importance of staying away from this property!

Nick and the rest of the maintenance staff are on point. Always wonderful and pleasant. Thats all the maintenance just good dudes. I haven’t had enough interactions with anyone else. But it does make it feel more at home and part of a community with how friendly everyone is. So thanks to Nick and the rest of the maintenance staff for always being a delight.

Amber was fantastic! She guided me through a virtual tour and had everything set up within hours of my application. Her communication was crystal clear, and she thoroughly explained all the fees and how the system works. Unfortunately, I couldn’t move into the apartment because my job shifted to remote work, so I decided to stay in my home state. However, I still wanted to leave this review to highlight what an outstanding agent Amber is. Thank you for all your hard work!
