This is one group of angry, seemingly unwilling or unable (mostly) men. The program manager (Fred Banks) for the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program has no idea what’s going on in his own program, sends his team out without the basic information needed to perform at a minimum standard and is both slow and negligent in his responses. One wonders why he is working for MDE? In my experience, these aren’t the actions of a slow person, but of apathy, unmanaged. Mr. Banks doesn’t keep up, or have knowledge of his team’s projects. It’s strange that so many non environmentally minded and strikingly angry people would work at MDE. If it was just a matter one employee needing anger management classes (they know who they are, I’m guessing the whole team does) or one slow PM - it wouldn’t be worth a review, but as is, the staff is detrimentally ineffective. In its current state the department is dysfunctional and operating as if asleep at the wheel.

I just read a Judge just overturned a MDE permit to allow a poultry plant to discharge up to 575000 gallons of tainted water daily that feeds into the Nanticoke river and then the chesapeake bay The MDE is no friend of citizens of maryland apparently, they only care about companies with big money

Talked to Adam Corry about a septic systems. He was completely inept. He has no clue to what the printed laws and regulations were. When shown the rules he said that what he says matters more than what is in black and white. When I said I was going to talk to Nony Howell about it, Adam responded that he “tells that red helmet head “c word” what to do.” Is this what we allow out of our government employees?

Would not consider any variances to our unique septic issue. Took 7 months of asking for help and many site visits.
In the end, they would only approve holding tanks. Our home value has plummeted. We are struggling to sell it, even at a huge loss. I do not feel like they cared about our delicate situation.

Amazing place and top notch staff, folks leave negative reviews instantly cause they expect everything instantly, but for one to comprehend environmental issues and the regulations there is no instant solution as each case varies , you need lots of patience for environments and environmental staff, Impatient people are the one who have spoiled the environment at the first place and they stink. 😂

I have been calling for weeks now and no one has answered! I need to contact someone in regards to renewal of our license. I have even pressed all prompts in hopes of reaching anyone to transfer me to a live person. This is not acceptable. .. DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS.

If I could give negative stars I would. I had to call three times about someone dumping concrete wastewater into the grass near my apartment building, (which is illegal and toxic unless they came up with a miraculous new nontoxic kind in the last few years) and the last person I spoke to on the phone sounded like she just got out of high school and that she could care less about what I was saying. I had already tried other organizations before I made my calls to them so they were a last resort. But they really are the ones who were supposed to come at least look into it. Who are we supposed to trust to take care of things negatively affecting our environment We only have one Earth so it really puts my mind at ease knowing the people at the MDE care as much as I do. SIKE. I understand not all employees at every company are going to be A+ and really care about their work. But at a place like this I did expect more. What a let down and a shame.
