I've been a customer of Mediacom internet for years. I don't subscribe to cable as it can be pricey. However I need high speed internet for the gamers in my household. The package I have when compared to other providers can't be beat. I always check their deals and am able to keep my bill reasonable. The Marion, Illinois office ladies are so friendly and helpful. It all comes down to preference. If you are fine with lag other businesses probably are cheaper.

I've had nothing but issues since November 2024, 3 tech visits with no resolution other than blaming the "upgrades" being made in the area. The technicians are great and super understanding of the frustrations but the call service just gaslights you the entire time. FIX YOUR SERVICE!

I would give 0 stars but I can't, firstly this service is absolute ass nowadays. back 5 years ago it use to be a flex to say you had mediacom but now theyre is just a giant cash grab still trying to portray themselves as the best. Yall claim to be the best with your speeds and reliability but all you do is push "upgrades" little shitty eero devices and provides nice download and upload speeds but absolutely falls short when it comes to reliability. I'm a work from home employee and I just feel embarrassed when I have to explain why I cant get my work done because mediacom can't get their shit together as I'm writing this review on my phone using my cellular internet service I'm currently looking into replacements because I would rather pay you guy a fee to remove mediacom out of my house rather than continue this scam yall call internet. Look at the reviews and learn from your mistakes and maybe I'll come back.

I would give 0 stars if it was an option, but to start things off I have had issues with their service for years. Wifi always coming off and on, they are ALWAYS doing maintenance, and overcharging.

They sent me an extra box with a router and modem and a few other things, which I did not want. So I had a duplicate of what I already have and they had been charging me for months without telling me that I was being charged for “a late fee” of having these extra parts which again, I did not ask for. They have no issues making their customers pay for mediacoms mistakes.

Every time I have tried to drop these extra parts off at their office in Marion they have either not been there or have a “mandatory meeting” sign up and closed. I’m already driving 20 minutes to get there just for it to be closed.

Horrible service, horrible support, and would not recommend this service to anyone.

The worst customer service ever experienced. I have had Mediacom for 5 years. I live in an older house and it took a little while to find a good combination to get reliable WiFi speed. My internet started dropping a few days ago so a tech came out. He said my modem had a bad firmware update so he changed it out. It is well documented on my account the type of modem I need. Yet he swapped it out for one that is incapable of the speed that I pay for. I am getting 200 mbps standing next to the modem as opposed to
700-800 mbps prior to the modem swap. I called Mediacom again and then set up a new appt. I reiterated and was reassured that the 2nd technician would be bringing the correct modem. Even once again the morning of the appt. The tech arrived and lied and said he was getting 600 mbps standing next to the modem, as I showed him I was getting 200 Mbps on my iPad. He did not bring the right modem, he just wasted my time trying to convince me that 200 Mbps was the best I was going to get. Even though I've lived at the same place that I've had service at and had 700-800 Mbps. Come to find out, they don't even have the modems, it has to be ordered. So now it will be 4 more days before the correct modem comes and I install it MYSELF. Beyond ridiculous lack of knowledge or communication all the way around. Mediacom is lucky this is the only internet option in my area. To be with the company this long and it decline so quickly is insane. So incredibly disappointed.

0 stars needs to be a thing and mediacom would be the standard for it. Not only is service poor as a whole on residential side, it’s also terrible on the business accounts side. I manage 50 apartments, and I never thought it would get worse until they started their encryption process. The only on-site technician we have is great, but all employees I have worked with would agree with me on the fact that their company is run poorly. Nobody knows who I can talk to to make complaints about the encryption process. Their customer service robots will have you going in circles. They cannot locate our contract, and I have requested multiple times for my statements and have not gotten it. We’re looking for a different company and so should you.

Signed on for mobile phone service. Had a few problems with some of apps. The staff at Mediacom bent over backwards to resolve my issues. They wouldn't stop until everything was right and I was fully satisfied. I also have their wifi service and never had a problem. In fact it's probably the best wifi I've had over the years.

Before the ice storm in southern Illinois it has been the spottiest ever. Then went without Internet for a week waited patiently bc I know it's cold. But to still have it spotty and problems everyday. We pay over 100.0 a month and I'm sure companies as well as home workers are not capable of doing business because of y'all.
