Look no further for a solar company, this is the one you’ve been wanting to find. Michael and his crew (on the job site and behind the scenes) are hands down the most professional and kind people to work with. And they give new life to the long decaying concept of customer service - a breath of fresh air. They installed a solar array on the roof of my house that was built many many decades ago and the roof has a serious swale in it, very visible to the eye. They took their time and painstakingly shimmed and leveled all of the panels so they looked completely flat and smooth. I didn’t ask them to, in fact it didn’t occur to me to ask for this because I’ve never installed solar panels before, they just did it because they pride themselves in their work.

And here is the most important thing - unlike other companies that install your system and walk away (never to be reachable again), Michael and his crew have responded to my questions and needs immediately and they (again) were kind and gracious in doing so and spending time with me as I learned the system and how it worked. They helped make the integration with PG&E smooth as silk and pretty much made the whole thing painless. I wish more contractors would treat their customers like they treated me, such a great experience. If you value being treated with respect, beautiful quality work and being responded to in a timely manner with kindness and grace these are your people.

They took care of many permitting applications with PG&E behind the scenes, which was helpful. In addition, they worked collaboratively with our roof certification and heat pump providers, who were also conducting active work around the house simultaneously. I am especially thankful to Michael for personally coming out to our site a few times to problem solve with these providers. I liked both Michael and Matt. Their installation was excellent and quick on our 100 year old house. They did well on the large amount of documentation needed for the permit and PG+E.

I give four stars instead of five because of the microinverter model choice that was miscommunicated. I would have chose the next model up if I was informed adequately. Live and learn, eh?
Bear in mind that I am a retired electrical contractor and am hard to please. I give five stars to hardly anyone. Would I do it again with this company? Totally.

Michael and Sun Solar is a great, small, local company, and anyone in Sonoma County wanting to consider rooftop solar should be calling them. My choice of them for our project was easy, because I first asked a trusted friend (who had just had a system installed) who did their work and were they happy with the work. He got several bids, chose Michael and Sun and was very happy about working with them. Then I asked my son, who had just had solar put on his roof by Michael and Son, and he also loved working with them. So I contacted William to begin the process, and liked his engineering plan to remove our 13-year-old system and replace it with a much larger system for our increased needs. William did all the permit work, kept in communication with me throughout the process, and then Michael and his installation team took over. Everyone I met on this project was professional, polite, pleasant to work with, and I continue to get follow-up from them to make certain everything is working properly. They have my strongest recommendation.

After a lot of research and calling around, we finally settled on Michael & Sun Solar, Inc. for the solar installation on our roof. The entire staff was great to work with, helping us understand options, requirements, etc. They were also very flexible as we had a few plan changes as we went. It was a real plus to work with a smaller (9-person) local company that was responsive. There was no upselling or anything like that. Eventually, we developed a plan for a 24-panel system that would produce about 9 KW at our location in Forestville. When our installation day came, 3 of the staff showed up and they were very clean, professional, and thorough in completing the installation over the course of two days. Overall, it was a very good experience and I am glad we selected them. I recommend them without hesitation to anybody seeking to install solar power in their home.

Our experience with the folks at Michael and Sun's is similar to those described in the other reviews. In 1 word - Excellence. We used M&S to install our Enphase Solar and Battery Backup 2 years ago. We hired them again last year to add additional panels when we purchased an EV. In both instances they were awesome to work with, handling everything professionally. And they thoroughly support the products they install. When you have a problem or a question, they get back to you quickly. If it cannot be resolved over the phone they are at your door. They never leave you hanging. I would hire these folks again in a heartbeat.
