Absolutely loved our experience at the Monkey Island Riverside Resort! We had the most beautiful view on the second floor, the suite was in fantastic shape, and the hotel is conveniently located near everything. 100% plan on using this as our jumping off point every year moving forward when we come for our annual manatee swim.

I enjoy my walks at this beautiful place. Unfortunately, the hurricane did some flood damage but they are rebuilding very fast. There was some flooding, but the renovations are coming along nicely. It's a great atmosphere, and I love the beautiful sunsets there. If you go out on the boat, you can see some manatee in the water.

Don’t not go to this resort they will fraudulently charge your card for cleaning fees and blame it on your pet that did not make a mess. Will never stay here again and will let everyone know that this place is a scam.

Booked our room in the buildings facing the inlet and pool last summer. Due to the multiple hurricanes the downstairs rooms were flooded so they upgraded our room to a suite upstairs. There doesn’t appear to be many guests and construction is ongoing. The rooms are sparse and not really appealing considering the cost of the room. The WiFi is not working and Spectrum has been to our room every day since we arrived and we still don’t have WiFi service so we hooked up our Starlink and remotes to the TV don't function properly. Now, a guy is pressure washing the porch on one of the top units right next to us and it is extremely loud. The attention to detail by the resort is horrible. It’s a shame that this has happened since the staff is really nice and the area is awesome. Unfortunately, next time we return we will stay elsewhere. Hoping the hotel will give us some sort of refund but they haven’t brought it up so I’m hoping they will before we depart since they already charged our card. I will keep you posted if we get some sort of refund. That would be the right thing to do.

Start out by saying the website is not accurate there is no pool,no restaurant, no ice cream! Checked into room air conditioning didn’t work! Spoke with Cindy at the front desk who her answer for everything is I don’t know! After the maintenance man came to check out the AC we had to move rooms which we were totally unpacked. The maintenance man is very nice. After speaking to Cindy at the front desk again about any incentive for the inconvenience she once again stated “I don’t know.” The morning of checkout at 907am housekeeping just walked into our room even though the do not disturb was on the door and she was holding it in her hand. They charge a $20 per day surcharge for towels, trash bags etc when $160 per day in most places is part of the room rate. When checking out they gave is a 61.05 credit to a bill that was $631.65!! I never write reviews and give most places the benefit of the doubt but this place is unprofessional,rude and uncaring!!

Great place unless you like to eat

The shed is horrible No breakfast at all for five miles I couldn’t get a Diet Coke cause they had closed me out no microwave no breakfast no hairdryer terrible food ice cold water in the rooms

It’s a cute location, but but the services are terrible

Didn't order any food, but enjoyed sitting by the water and watching The monkeys on the island. Drink prices were reasonable.
