Moonside Bakery and Cafe in Half Moon Bay was a mixed bag. The service was friendly and quick, which was great considering how busy they were when we visited. They have an indoor seating area, perfect for escaping the crowds and the heat. They also serve breakfast, lunch, wood-fired pizza, and other items in addition to their sweet treats and pastries.

The banana bread was okay, a decent choice for a sweet treat. However, the artichoke pesto was a major disappointment. It was dry and incredibly chewy, making it difficult to enjoy.

Overall, while the service and atmosphere were pleasant, the food was inconsistent.

I am a local resident and I go once a week for a pancake w fruit and a fresh squeezed orange juice. I also stop in periodically during the week for their focaccia bread, pizza, a hit cocoa or a pastry. The family and staff are wonderful and sweet. Everything is delicious and made with love.

Wow… yeah no so favorable . Staff good, they lost my latte? Seriously… someone took it after being made.. French toast was so darn DRY and sweet.. had to toss it. The eggs and potatoes, come on, who can mess this up? They did, dry, no flavor and the portions were like a starvation diet size. Tossed.. in our opinions, we don’t know HOW this place has a 4 star review. The 2 stars are for the staff at the order line and cashier. The latte girls have zero personality and skill. The coffee and latte was watery.

I have never been to the shop but I got bakery from there twice and I am always impressed by the presentation and taste. The fruit tart looks so gorgeous that everyone needs to pull up the phone to take a photo. And it tastes amazing! The fruit is fresh, the almond paste is just right amount of sweet, the custard cream is light and smooth. Definitely one of the best fruit tarts I ever had. I definitely visit the shop myself one day.

This bakery was HIT on our trip! Pastries, fresh breakfast items, cakes, and etc! You name it - they have it. Good quality, cute little European style bakery with a very nice ambiance. We had following:

Visited on 10 May 2021. It was our first time on Half Moon Bay Main Street and was looking for a place to eat with outside seating space for our pups. We had a quick look at the items on the menu. Honestly, there was something for everyone. I'm off red meat at the moment so I picked the Turkey burger and my wife picked the Sub Pizza (no cheese please). The pizza was handmade and loaded with fresh ingredients. I even watched it go into the stone pizza oven. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. I know it's a small thing, but the potato salad side, was the best potato salad I've ever had. The burger was big and meaty the pizza was excellent, the pizza base tasted hand made. Can I also recommend the mango mousse cake and the chocolate eclair. Yes they have decaf coffee and yes they can make your latte with almond milk if you'd like. Loved this place. A wonderful introduction to Main Street, with excellent friendly customer orientated service and well made food and coffees. Will be visiting here when we come back to Half Moon Bay again.

Half Moon Bay is a small town on the coast not far away from San Carlos snd Belmont. You can takes half an hour drive through highway 92 to reach the town center of Half Moon Bay easily. Most of the boutique shops and stores are located at the main street. There're some nice mural paintings on the buildings. Not very crowded at weekend but weekends could be full of visitors.

This place is half bakery and half restaurant, with a wood-fire pizza oven and a selection of salads and sandwiches. The bakery offers a wide range of breads, pastries, and cookies. Indoor (in the courtyard) and outdoor seating available. Service was fast and friendly.
