Small but brightly lit and welcoming. Happened to come on a day they were hosting a free kids craft event. Was pretty cute and made me want to be a kid to get in on the action 😁

Good selection of cheap books to buy updated daily. Not the place if you need to do work in a quiet place. Everyone including staff actually yell across the room. The red headed staff member wants to do everything herself and doesn't even want to let her coworkers help anyone she tries to help multiple people at the same time instead of focusing on helping each person individually. Good place needs a lot of improvement in being quiet

Nice library... but as others have said, avoid the short haired red headed librarian. She's bossy and not very friendly.

9/23/23 update. The red headed librarian now has blond hair. She will give you dirty looks as soon as you enter. Always frowning, always suspicious.

2024 update. That same librarian has gone back to here natural gray hair. I haven't had the pleasure of interacting with her lately but I'd still avoid her if at all possible. ALL the other librarians are friendly!

Good library, medium size but a little limited on space to setup your own computer. There are three bistro tables in the adult area that are really only big enough for one person to setup a computer. Great staff, great location and they keep their wifi on all night so people set up outside after hours to use the internet. Only downside is the local homeless population (of whom I am technically one though I am really on extended camping trip) who can be a little smelly and not willing to share space. But the staff are great!

I really wanted to like this library -- really, I did. Morro Bay is such a lovely place that I expected the library to reflect that charm. Instead, it's an obnoxiously noisy affair where many of the patrons have never heard of using their "quiet voices" or putting their phones/computers on silent. As I type this, there are men nearby talking at full street volume while another man's computer blasts out what I can only guess is music from a 90s-era videogame. I've been here for two hours, on a Friday morning nonetheless, and it's not getting better. Some of you reading this may be saying, "well, it's a public library--what did you expect?" But for all others, you have been warned.
