My husband and I had been saving for our home to be remodeled for many years. Last year we decided to remodel our Master bedroom and bath, as well as another bath and sewing room. We researched online reviews of local businesses and liked what we read about New Prairie Construction Company. The remodel began last March, and we were immediately impressed by their commitment to customer service. Plastic zippered protection to confine workplace dust and debris as well as flooring protection from the entryway door was greatly appreciated. They work in conjunction with several superior local services (plumbing, electrical, etc.) as well as materials suppliers, making our selection process seamless. Being retired, I was able to witness the remodel on a daily basis. All of the New Prairie employees were a pleasure to work with and provided professional expertise and pride in their workmanship. Our remodel turned out to be more beautiful than I had even dreamed. We are so pleased with that outcome, that we are currently planning more work with New Prairie Construction Company. I highly recommend their services.

A partial list of projects I've had done to my 1960-era home by the New Prairie Construction Company is:
remodeling the original kitchen,
remodeling the original master bathroom,
additional attic insulation,
repairs to a garden tool shed and patio bench,
rewiring of and replacement of living and dining room lighting, repair of a leaky chimney,
installation of a safety railing on my front steps,
modification of a wall unit to fit a larger TV,
and new caning on some old chairs.

New Prairie remodeled our kitchen and it turned out beautifully. I just love it! We had a complete overhaul done (taking out part of a wall, replacing all the appliances and cabinets etc.), and they also helped with the design process. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The workers were beyond professional and reliable. After having them in our home for almost three months, we kind of miss having them around. Their attention to detail was extremely meticulous and they often had higher standards than even we did. If you are willing to pay for top notch craftsmanship, this company is the way to go.

We have just completed a kitchen and laundry room remodel. We asked to merge the old with the new which New Prairie was willing to do (this saved us some money but presented a few unexpected challenges). We were very impressed by the care with which the crew treated our home. They zipper-locked the kitchen so dust/dirt from the demolition did not permeate any of the rest of the house (this is a huge plus if you have ever done a remodel). They did all the usual good things, but went beyond the expected at every turn. Some aspects took longer than anticipated due to COVID delays, but they kept us updated on when to expect the next phase to begin.
Their subcontractors are better than I would have found on my own. They were responsive and willing to educate us about the idiosyncrasies of our wiring and plumbing. The work is topnotch and beautifully finished. We love the new kitchen and appreciate the suggestions for minor changes that were made along the way that make it better than we originally imagined.
This is a five-star construction team. Laura was team lead for our project, and Eric was the scheduler. We had the most dealings with the two of them and they were both excellent in the guidance they provided and in the work that they did. We couldn't have asked for a more professional or caring team.

New Prairie installed at 6.1 Kwh solar system on our home last October. We have a very tricky configuration on a 110-year-old home, with a high, steep roof and many corners. I honestly didn't think solar would be worthwhile or cost effective, and I also worried about ways in which any system would undermine the integrity of the 100 year old roof or new roof we have put on a few years ago. But they proved that assumption wrong, even after other contractors told us it was not worth the cost or did not leave me feeling at ease about the work they'd perform.

A year on, we could not be happier. The quality of this project was outstanding and the team did an excellent job to lay out the system, to estimate production levels ahead of time, and to plan the installation. The work was done on time, with a well organized and clean worksite. Any minor issues were brought to our attention by the crew supervisor, addressed immediately and in a proactive and responsible fashion. Really with everything about the work the New Prairie Solar Team did was above expectations. When we had a minor issue post-install (a blown fuse in the solar cutoff box on a high producing day), New Prairie had the electrician in to fix the problem the very day. It has not reoccured so I am confident the underlying issue was corrected.

We've been thrilled with how the system is producing. I'm a bit obsessive about checking our production levels, and we are right on target--even though our system is mostly eastern facing and partially shaded by a chimney on the south side. We've had several months where the system overproduced our usage. Seeing a $13 monthly electric charge is sweet and the credits roll over the next month!!! If you are thinking about going solar, don't hesitate to call New Prairie!

New Prairie Construction installed a 10Kw solar panel system. Price was very competitive and the quality was first class. After I signed the agreement there was nothing more for me to do. Everything was included in the agreement to completely install the solar array and get it functionally online. Very pleased with the final product.
