We got an email letting us know the date and time our panels would be installed. they were here that day and on time and in 2 day's our panels were on and wired to the inverter. We wanted to upgrade our breaker panel to a 200 Amp service and New Prairie Solar was very helpful in getting this done when the panels were connected to the house electrical system. Everything has been working great so far. I would recommend New Prairie Solar if you want to install solar on your house.

We had solar panels installed this summer and it was a very smooth experience with New Prairie Solar. This company doesn't go door-to-door pressuring people to buy their products, instead relying on word-of-mouth. Another benefit is that the company is located right in my hometown of Urbana, so it is easy to go see them if anything goes wrong. At the initial site visit, Nate and Brian answered all of my questions and concerns and didn't pressure us into buying extras that we didn't want. The company did a great job walking us through all of the paperwork, and they took care of most of it. It was easy to call them if we had any questions. During the installation, one day was super hot with a heat index of 110+, the crew worked in the morning and told us that the company gave them the afternoon off. Kudos to the company for caring so much about their health. The system has been operational now for a couple of weeks, and everything is working fine. But we know that if something goes wrong a quick phone call will bring someone out to fix it the same day. An easy 5-stars.

When my original installer abandoned any further support after just the first year, New Prairie stepped in and has done an AMAZING job of maintaining my 24 kwh system. In the office, Brian and Ruby are very responsive and helpful and Donnie and James are first-rate technicians. I am grateful for their support!

A friend and I both decided to go solar, so worked together on selecting a company. We both chose New Prairie Construction. New Prairie is truly local - the company was started locally and has remained local throughout its history. This was important because if there would ever be a problem 10 years down the road, there was good probability that the company could be reached and would be responsive more quickly than a company from other areas with crews from other locations.
New Prairie worked with me to get the lead free panels that I wanted.
Both the city inspector and Ameren inspector commented on the good quality of the installation. The city inspector was familiar with the work of New Prairie and commented that I had made a good decision in choosing them.
Of 5 companies that we investigated, New Prairie had the best price of the companies that were local, established, and with the quality of product we wanted.
Whenever I emailed questions to Nate or other staff, I always received a reply.
I was given a list of what to expect for each step of the process and the list was accurate. I was kept informed throughout the process. The installation team was friendly, and cleaned up after themselves.
I highly recommend New Prairie Construction for solar installation.

They met every timeline and cost. And the solar system is generating more power than I use! And they are a local company. Highly recommend them.

From start to finish, New Prairie was the sort of professional outfit I expected and needed for this project. There are a lot of horror stories out there about unqualified or unprofessional solar installers, but New Prairie proved to be legitimate professionals. Responsive, hard-working, knowledgeable. They had patience for the project that was mildly delayed with some Ameren quibbles, and saw the project through all the way to activation. Our new solar array has already made a HUGE difference in our bill, and we are very likely to consider New Prairie in the future if we choose to add batteries. Cannot say enough good about them.

Our installation was completed in the fall of 2022. New Prairie Solar made every part of the process easy to understand and wonderfully concise. They figured out the math of our electricity consumption compared to the solar system that our house could handle and explained how everything worked. All costs, incentives, and details were thoroughly explained.

From that point of contact and estimate, all of our questions were promptly answered, communication was spot on, and every step of the process was detailed and informative. We felt like we were in very good hands the entire time.
