Very unprofessional. Very rude. I had received my bill yesterday and noticed a $214 late fee. I wondered how could I be late if I had just now received the bill? The bills come in the mail and I pay them that day or the very next. All my balances have always been taken care of here but the lady in the office said these words exactly " it's not my fault that you can't pay your bills on time" after I presented that everything had been taken care of she didn't even apologize and hung up on me.
Unbelievable.

My wife and I are new to NE Alabama and were concerned about internet access at our rural location in the Stevenson area. We tried T Mobile, but they said they didn't have enough band width to support their home internet system. We checked out Starlink, but we have too many trees that blocked access to the satellites. We called North Alabama Power Corporative and BOOM!! they verified our location, scheduled the crew to run the Fiber Optic line, and waited the 10 day turnaround for the equipment installation.

The office staff were friendly, professional and did their job well. The line crew arrived a day early, even in the bitter cold of our January deep freeze and did a great Job. Our installer, Joe was on time, on his game, and treated us like old friends.

Many thanks to the staff and crews of Alabama Power Fiber.

I've lived in quite a few places and had always taken for granted that power was just supposed to work ( unless you don't pay your bills)..Since being here in Alabama and being supplied power by Northeast Alabama Electric I now realize that maybe some electric companies may possibly be behind on the times..Constant outages,constant power surges and representatives that will let you know that it's possible for a transformer to be hit by lightening 3 times within 2 weeks.if there would possibly be a reason to find a home in the Stevenson / Scottsboro area I'd definitely consider a home that is under a different power company grid if I could go back and do it again.

Update 7/31/24 - Northeast contracts a crew to come out and trim our trees out of the power lines..The limbs are left down on the property ..When I asked if these limbs would be picked up I was told that they would either be picked up today or tommorrow..with noone showing up today as well I contacted Northeast and was told to call them back if they aren't picked up by Monday ..With our area being in extreme heat this will obviously destroy the yard as well...

If you can't do your cleanup as you trim these trees onto residential lawns then maybe you should hire real crews or coordinate better..

The management at this business is a Joke.
Ethics commission of North Alabama, along with the Feds, should be looking into this business.
I have management recorded telling me they don't need a landowners permission to set meters and turn electric on. Lol

Hey NAE, power was perfectly fine before your “upgrade” on May 8. Since then, we’ve had multiple unplanned outages — including hours without power just yesterday. What exactly did you mess up, and when are you fixing it? I didn’t ask for less reliability.

Transformer blows weekly, and we live across from the city park, so we're not out in the sticks. I'll give them two stars, only because they do respond to it quickly and get the power back, but it gets really old constantly having our electrical devices reboot due to the power going off repeatedly. I just wish they would figure out how to fix problems instead of just putting band-aids on them. They also have cut our power off before due to an electronic error showing that we hadn't paid our bill when we had. Thankfully we kept our receipt as proof, otherwise we would've have to pay the connection fee over again. Also, they left a mess when cutting limbs for the power lines and didn't send someone out to clean it for over two weeks.

This company gets a lot of grief due to service outages, time to repair, etc. They service the 7th largest county in Alabama and most of it is incredibly rural(53 people per square mile: which is 10% compared to Madison county). The technicians do their best with what they have. People need to buy a battery back up for their Internet hardware and hurry up and wait.
