I recently got solar panels installed by Nova Solar. The entire experience was very professional and smooth. Highly recommended! You know you are in good hands when the communication is prompt and thorough. LB was the project manager and he did an excellent job keeping me informed. Trip led the installation team. Being an engineer myself, I was thoroughly impressed with how clean they maintained the work sites, their tidy cable management, custom-built shelves inside their trailer to organize everything etc. I got to go up the roof to see the installation, and it was really good! I got my system turned on just a few days ago and so far the system is performing well with no issues (took about a month after installation to receive permission to operate from PEPCO)!

My experience with Nova Solar, from start to finish, was overwhelmingly positive. The entire staff was professional, courteous, and went out of their way to answer the questions I had. During the design phase they revised their proposal in response to my inputs without hesitation. They provided information on available systems and the pros and cons of each, made sound recommendations and explained why they made them, put together the system I wanted even if I decided against a particular recommendation. The installation crew/electricians were efficient and obviously well-trained, and explained what they were doing if I asked. They put together all the paperwork I needed to apply for tax credits and deductions at both the local and federal levels. They initiated the process and did most of the paperwork to enable me to sell SRECs. Throughout the entire process they were very responsive to my questions/requests. I highly recommend Nova Solar if you're looking to install solar in the Northern Virginia area.

One of the most impressive aspects of our journey with Nova Solar was the speed and efficiency of the installation process. This was a much faster turnaround than any other company we talked to. We went with 47 panels and Nova Solar was able to install everything in one day. Everybody on the Nova Solar team was extremely friendly and professional.

It has been three months since our NOVA Solar solar power array (16 panels, 384W per panel max throughput) became active, and life is electrically better. $16 a month electric bills, with some credits “in the bank.”

The entire process with NOVA was excellent. We had four bids, which we narrowed to two, and then to NOVA alone, based on our needs and our desire to work with a local installer. The contract preliminaries and discussions went smoothly, as you would expect with a knowledgeable team. Being an engineer (not electrical), I asked many questions, and my questions were answered with respect and with detail (no “dumb customer” attitude). Installation followed (one day on site) and it became clear that this was a team who knew their stuff, and who enjoyed what they did. Follow up questions were answered quickly, and all post-installation details (interconnect, billing, documentation, SREC submission, etc.) were all accomplished with no issues.

All of the bids were competitive with what our research had indicated. NOVA’s bid was a few percent higher than the others, but we felt the local knowledge they had, and the support for a local business we would show, was well worth the extra dollars. As one of the team said, “we try to be competitive, but we want to be the best!” We have two neighbors who also used NOVA, and their experiences (over five plus total years) have been the same.

There have been a lot of new entrants into the solar installation market in Northern Virginia but Nova Solar is the one to use for reliability and professionalism. They installed my new system efficiently and were sensitive to the added demands of working on an older home. Would not hesitate to use them again.
