My experience with Dean from NxtPhase Solar Energy was fantastic. I had contacted 5 other solar companies/ solar panels electricians and Dean/ NxtPhase Solar Energy was the only one to come through for us. We had an issue with the inverter on our solar system and Dean came to our house and diagnosed the problem and contacted the manufacturer of our inverter and got the process started of getting a replacement inverter and found out ours was still under warranty. Dean kept me updated on the progress of the manufacturer’s progress and when we could expect the replacement inverter. Dean then contacted me and we agreed on a day to have him install the inverter. He installed it and showed me the display and explained the numbers and what they meant.
Dean was professional and explained the whole process from his first visit to when the solar panel system issue was resolved.
I highly recommend NxtPhase Solar Energy for anything solar panels related.

Dean and the folks from NxtPhase Solar Energy are great to work with. My roof based solar panel system had been installed in late 2008 by a third party that is now out of business. I noticed that the output of my system dropped significantly and reached out to NxtPhase Solar for assistance. The team was responsive, knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated to identify and resolve the issue! They did it with safety, cleanliness and cost effectiveness; resolving the current issue (wildlife activity under the panels had damaged wiring and panels) and preventing future access with side guards around the panels. Dean is a one man band. NxtPhase proposal was competitive, and toward the lower end pricewise among several solar companies I contacted. And they could deliver the system I wanted (ground mounted with battery backup) in the current year, while others couldn't. My roof faces east/west, and would have required some tree removal. I have a good, clear spot in the yard facing south without obstruction. And I live in a very rural part of the northeast, and needed backup power for power outages (e.g., winter storms). Dean got it all done at a time (summer/fall 2022) when there were still effects from the pandemic.

Dean has been available to answer my questions before signing a contract, during the time before and during installation, and even months after installation. It has been a very positive experience. Another solar company that I had an initial agreement with, fell through as their proposal fell apart (a possible bait and switch). And others couldn't deliver, or were priced too high. I've been happy with the entire process, from contract, through installation, and post installation. I can recommend Dean and NxtPhase Solar.

We just recently had our one-year anniversary since Dean w/ NxtPhase Solar installed our roof mount solar array. It has performed exactly as he said it would and we are able to monitor the systems output daily. The installation process was quick and easy. The whole purchasing process from signed contract to installation only took about one month. As a Licensed Journeyman Electrician and a graduate of HVCC Electrical Construction and Maintenance, I took a Photovoltaic course at Hudson Valley Community College in which Dean Fagan instructed. I was impressed with his attitude, knowledge and skill. I hired Dean Fagan of NxtPhase Solar to help execute my plan to have my own sustainable solar electric production.

Together we built a Grid-Tied 5.2 Kilowatt Solar Electric Generating System which took about one day. After the Electrical Inspection and Commissioning of the system, I no longer pay for my electricity. I sell my extra production back to the grid via a Net Meter and the grid become my Kilowatt bank when it's cloudy. My pay back should be less than 6 years after receiving NYSERDA Solar Incentive, my Federal Tax Income Incentive and New York State Tax Incentive.

My SMA Inverter thought their Sunny Portal App gives me updates throughout the day and logs monthly and yearly production with constant mentoring from Germany. This allow me to plan for the extra electrical production. My system production is high enough to charge a EV car and drive for nearly free or to heat and air condition my house with a DC Inverter Heat Pump which would also be nearly free all from my Solar Array. Sizing your Array is very important to the success of your electrical production just as much as conserving electricity to reduce your rate of return time line on your Solar Array Investment.

Dean Fagan worked with me to get the sizing right, as a Licensed Journeyman Electrician I would recommend his company NxtPhase Solar Energy for your Solar Energy Projects. He knows how to get all the incentives available in the current market and design then build your system correctly following all the current electrical codes.
