Went to visit my mom’s grave today for the first time since see passed back in August, had trouble locating her gravesite due to the snow. Went into the office to ask for assistance. They reached out to the groundskeeper, Robert whom had already spotted me and was on his way to assist me but I pulled off before he could catch me as I headed to the office. I drive back over to the area and within minutes he finds her plot and delicately uncovered her marker. Robert is a remarkable! He is truly understanding of the importance of valuing others in their experience as they visit their deceased loved ones! He is very kind and professional, ultimately a true Asset to Oak Wood!

During the unexpected loss of my son recently, the staff of Oak Woods Cemetry, especially Erika and Pamela, did an excellent job helping me to lay him to rest with dignity. They worked with me step by step to have his remains prepared in New Jersey and laid to rest in his birthplace of Chicago. I highly recommend Oak Woods and will be forever grateful for their exceptional and loving care.

I recently visited Christmas Eve only to find my sisters headstone so dirty and neglected. A young man was driving around and offered to help. Robert really went out of his way got on the ground on his knees to scrub my sisters headstone;I was so in awe. There are still good people on this earth.

I just recently visited Oakwood Cemetery to find the graves of my Dad and Grandad. I had a hard time locating where they were buried. Robert and the other gentleman of the groundscrew not only helped me locate the graves, but they also cleaned them and made sure the headstones were in great shape before I left. This meant a lot to me and my family. Thank you so much.

Went to visit my great grandmother’s buriall site today and had a hard time finding where she was because her headstone had sunken into the ground. Robert kindly took care of her site for us and now we will easily be able to find her. Thank you Robert!
