Went to attend a wedding event The rooms were cold, and adjusting the heat did not help at all. When a storm came, water came under the balcony slider about 5 ft into the room, resulting in wet carpeting. We also found silverfish in the bathroom each day (1 per day). If you have mobility issues, the tub is especially high, and there is a big step into the shower, and the floor is slippery in the shower. Restaurant does not open until 8:00 a.m.--they lost many customers to restaurants in the area due to that (we ate at a different place nearby each day, and saw other hotel guests there as well). The sink faucets were also loose and leaked a bit. Service at lunch was good (Hi Maria!) and the food was decent (fish & chips at least). Parking was free. There is an on-site spa which we did not use. A few miles in either direction on Hwy 1 results in spectacular ocean/cliff/beach views. The hotel overlooks Pillar Point Harbor, which is an okay view, nothing panoramic. Sea lions in the harbor will amuse children with their antics, with lots of para-sailing, wind-surfing, and sailing to observe. Kayaks are available to rent nearby. When we DID interact with staff, they were pleasant & helpful.

Here for a wedding. I was in the bridal party and the staff and particularly the coordinators for the wedding were beyond amazing!! Super helpful and organized. Laura was amazing as the bartender for the event! Only downside are the hard beds and the fairly expensive rooms. Overall very worth it and an amazing wedding venue!

The rooms are really stylish and give a great vibe. For example, we have a decorative gas oven in the room.
The service was really nice, we forgot something at the counter during checkin and they called our room shortly after we arrived and brought it right away. In addition to another requested item.

I absolutely loved my stay at Oceano. I stayed in a sky walk villa and it was everything I hoped it would be. Clean room, kitchen, bathroom, and loft. Lots of room. The decor is charming all over this place. The location is suberb! Waking distance to our favorite Italian restaurant MezzaLuna, but there are a handful of other great restaurants walking distance. It’s perfect! Don’t hesitate.
The only issue was the heat did not work and it was very cold- the fireplace was very dim and had to leave it on all night to warm the place up.
Hopefully they fix that issue.

We recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Oceano Hotel and Spa at Half Moon Bay Harbor, and I can’t recommend this venue enough as an exceptional location for weddings. The picturesque ceremony site, nestled on a beautifully manicured lawn with a stunning arch overlooking the harbor, provided the perfect backdrop for our couple’s vows. The reception hall was immaculate, with fantastic lighting that enhanced every moment of the evening, and created an overall beautiful ambiance for celebration.

A special shoutout to Nancy, the venue coordinator, who went above and beyond to ensure every detail was flawless. Her dedication and attention to detail made the day seamless for everyone involved, and she truly added a personal touch to the couple’s experience.

Additionally, we stayed on-site in one of the loft rooms, which was ideal for keeping our team close by and ready to capture every special moment. The accommodations were comfortable and well-appointed, further enhancing our experience at the Oceano.

We held my daughter's wedding at the Oceano in late August, and we truly could not have been in better hands. From the start we knew we felt something special here, right after meeting with Nancy to see the venue and walk the grounds, which are gorgeous. Most venues have minimums, extra fees, and several restrictions. With Nancy and the Oceano, there was such an approachable and flexible atmosphere right from the start to make the day everything my daughter and her husband had envisioned. It all ran like clockwork on the day of. The food and drinks were out of this world and every detail felt elevated and special. Nancy also worked completely seamlessly with our wedding coordinator, Calcany Event Planning, whom we had hired from time of the engagement party to ensure a stress-free planning process and a day full of beautiful and unique details and decor.

Nancy and her team feel like family to all of us at this point!

The perfect wedding venue!!!

We cannot imagine a more perfect wedding venue! We got to work with both Nancy and Jenn and they were so easy to work with and made sure our wedding was the perfect day. They always made themselves available for calls and answered our questions in a timely manner. We did multiple meals at the venue (welcome dinner, reception, farewell brunch and all the food was SO GOOD. Over a week later and we still have guests telling us how great their experience was and how they did not leave hungry. Not only was the venue gorgeous, but the list of preferred vendors Nancy and Jenn have put together is incredibly helpful and provides a wide variety of options. The hotel staff also made the experience extra amazing - they supported all our guests needs and our needs throughout the weekend and they made the weekend run super smoothly. Could not recommend this place stronger if you are looking for a Bay Area wedding!

Awful with reservations!! We made the reservation and paid for it all with a debit card and they didn’t tell us that we needed a credit card until the day of. Very last minute and unprofessional. Neither me or my partner have a credit card so we had to cancel the day of. I understand, you need a credit card for lots of things these days, but I’ve never had to with hotel rooms. They should have told us we needed that the day we made the reservation. Very unprofessional and a huge rip off?
