Power goes out every other day for hours at a time. If you work from home , stay away from this company. I’m about to lose my job over how often I lose power. I’m sure my job doesn’t believe that anyone can lose their power that often but with okeefenokee, you will!

You’d think with all the hurricanes and price gauging that they would invest in better lines but nope. The power with this company is ridiculous. Out during a storm, expected. Out with a gust of wind even. It could be a bright breeze less day and the power will flicker. Maybe a drunk hit a pole. Maybe a squirrel just got fried. It happens way too often to be excused and I am beyond over this horrible company.

Our power went out at 11:45 PM tonight. OREMC was at our gate within 10 minutes of our phone call. The lineman, Will, had the power back on in 5 minutes! Absolutely unbelievably great service! We are so grateful.

Edit 1 year later:
My bill went from $150 to $320 after doing NOTHING different? It can't keep going like this. I need a different power company. How do they expect people to afford their power with their "slight increase".

Very friendly staff! Every time my husband or I has called about anything, they have always been professional & very helpful! Everything that they have helped us with has been a quick easy process! Thank you Okefenokee Power!

30+ hours and no power. I get it, there was a storm, but almost all of the County has had their power restored, but we not only have no power, there's not one truck to be found in the area. This is all too common with this terrible power company. Clear and sunny days, we lose power and wait hours for it to be restored. If there was another option, we would jump on it, but unfortunately, we're stuck with this terrible excuse for a power company. Will they reimburse me for my lost food or give me a refund for this terrible service...NO. If I did my job this poorly, I wouldn't be employed and yet, they will charge me immediately if my payment is a minute late, regardless of the cause, even if it's due to their inability to process the payment in a timely manner. I'm only giving them one start because that's the lowest there is to make a post. They deserve to be in the negative!!!!!

Terrible communication during outages. Power seems to go out frequently for no reason. There is never any updates regarding having power restored. In addition, the monthly bill increases steadily. Very disappointing.

With the slightest sprinkle our electric surges, if it rains heavy we lose power for hours. Worst service, personnel and communications I've ever experienced. My power bill is constantly higher and they charge more than they tell you. If I could change companies I would.

So having my power turned off for lack of payment (my responsibility 100% I know this I'm not a fool) went in to get "help" on understand their billing cycle and shutoff policy. After getting a complete runaround I asked if I had any other options and was told verbatim "I don't know what to say to make you understand you have to pay your bills on time" followed by a blank stare literally down here lifted nose at me I very frustrated held my tongue and walked away. 10 minutes in to my drive to work decided to call another branch (nahunta) and ask the same questions and for options. Within 10 minutes I completely understood why the billing was the way it was and how I had gotten behind. But even better she (the lady in nahunta) had given me options that not only got the bill completely up to date but had me a credit if $158 without any more money out of pocket! It is now completely understood, easily managed, and I will never have to deal with this extremely unhelpful snooty lady who has forgotten what her actual job is... Customer service. (Let it be known I was never once blameful cursing condescending or disrespectful to her at any point)
