I took my truck to another mechanic and was quoted $5800. I was told I would need to replace my entire suspension system or convert it to a regular suspension for $2800. They couldn't even tell me what was wrong with the suspension. My suspicion was that it was a leak and strut/shocks replacement. I called Pep Boys Cicero location and was told they don't deal with air suspension issues so take it to a dealer. So I called their Hodgkins location. The first thing they told me was that there was no way it needed a total replacement and that they could most certainly handle the repairs. They actually listened to my concerns and what I was experiencing with my vehicle. Within a few hours I had a full diagnostic on my entire vehicle as well as an actual diagnosis of my suspension issues. My truck was ready the next day and running like a dream. Total cost including an oil change $1200. This is my 3rd experience with this location and all have been positive. I appreciate their honesty, integrity and quality of work.

Awesome service didn't take all day. I came in for a much needed Full Diagnostic and they literally did that and gave me a list of parts needed just in case I wanted to purchase myself to save cost. Usually when other locations say 2 hours it's the entire day. I was done and out in 2 hrs flat. Will be back soon.

We were leaving Chicago on a Sunday, 5 min out of town we got a flat tire. Found this place by some miracle and got a new tire put on in a little over an hour. Talk about luck. But the men working were so nice and helpful. Didn’t try to sell us extra stuff or anything. Gotta love great service and good workers!! Thanks guys

I took my Buick Encore in on March 3rd 2025 to get and oil change. My appointment was scheduled at 4:00pm. I did not leave until 6:30pm. Immediately after leaving my car smelled funny. The following day my engine light started flashing and my car was shaking as I drove it. I called the store and informed them of what was happening and they said to bring the car back in. I did that on the 5th, which he then tries to explain to me that to "fix" anything, I'd need to pay 1100 right then and there. I refused because it felt like a scam. He walked off for a second and then returned and said well if I can just pay 532 they'll "fix" the issues. I also refused because I felt like I was being hustled. The following day I called corporate and filed a complaint. She informed me that someone from the store will give me a call. The store manager Mike who is the one who tried to up-sale me in the 1st place said I cant "prove" they caused the issues and that maybe I can come in and we can "work something out"! This place is beyond unprofessional and disgusting. To take advantage of women and intentionally cause harm to their cars just for a buck is very sick and sad. My car was running perfectly fine before taking it to this establishment. I am also a mom, so at any point while i'm in the car with my son, i'm afraid something may happen and the car may shut off on us.

Easy process to set an appointment for the following day, and when I arrived, the check-in procedure was quick and painless. They assigned a tech to my car right away, and the tire repair was completed quickly. Courteous, professional, and efficient. Great job Pep Boys!

Would give them a 5 but the guy at the counter was not friendly and welcoming. Seemed bothered and was short with answers. Charged me wrong initially as he didn’t even bother to ask what I came in for. However the actual service tech that serviced my tires approached me to ask exactly what I needed done. Super helpful and friendly and answered all my questions about the tire. I will return this location because of the technician as well having people at the service desk to attend customers.

I recently had wheel bearings done on my vehicle. The price was fair. My technician Erik was great. I had to bring my vehicle back because I was still having a noise underneath the vehicle not having to do with the work that had been done. Erik took it for ride then checked it out and found it was a very simple fix. No charge. Very nice customer service team also.

I went to buy tires and I was very nicely surprised by the proffesional service by Edgar. He was very helpful and I hope all the workers at Pep Boys aspire to be like him. Pep Boys should be proud to have these workers on their team. I am giving 5 stars to him.
