Please do not waste your time going to this school! I am so disappointed that I switched to this school and have experienced nothing but problems. I have went all the way up to the Campus President Reggie Webb and Mr. Culver who both just pushed me on to another employee. The online teachers are never available to help and takes weeks to email you back. I had to go to the school for 2 months straight and talk to multiple people in different departments to get any help. And still I barely got any issues resolved. This place needs to be reported on how horrible they treat their students. I am still having problems and if I was to write it all down here it would be a novel. I am looking into options to report this school. Even looking into a story to be covered in the paper and the local news. You are just money walking through those doors. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s sad because you should be proud going to your local College, but honestly going here is nothing to be proud of. They do not take pride in their students. From the campus president Reggie Webb, and assistant campus president Mr. Culver all the way down to the teachers and employees.

This College has earned my 5 Star reviews and will be shared with family and friends affordable classes. Great financial assistance best Advisors, Professors, and Leaders including the President Dr.Falconetti. I have made success here and will encourage anyone else that wants to get fully educated and enter a good criminal Justice program to come to Polk State any job in Public Safety even. I’m blessed to call this my new home.

The people there have no work ethic... all you get is "I don't know, I don't have the ability to help you"... NOT EVEN the Dean on the Lakeland Campus can help with any financial issue... 20+ years ago, people answered the phone and ACTUALLY did their job and helped Students and Parents. This College is no longer what it used to be! Don't waste your time or money here! It's not just at the college sadly, it's every where. People want a pay check, but they don't actually want to do the job. The WHOLE economic system is a circus show, but I digress.... You might have better luck at HCC or any other accredited college! You'll be wasting a lot of time and possibly money at Polk State!

Find a different school or do your own advising. They advised me to take a class I did not need it wreaked my GPA and did nothing but give me the run around because I technically passed it. They also proceeded to tell me during my success advisory meeting to switch from AS to AA conveniently leaving out that for whatever reason it put a hold on my scholarship which means I lost $675. Also note that their financial aid and advising departments are always experiencing higher than normal call volumes meaning wait times exceed 45min to hours and will often just drop a call randomly. Always go through operator if you wish to get something done. Just know it can be a good place to get your degree but you're on your own, no help or advising. So, know your aid, tuition, and the nuances. They do not care about any individual student.

This Polk state college is absolutely amazing the bathrooms and the campuses are super clean staffs are amazing here but in LLC AND LAC buildings lights doesn’t work they not bright enough but overall everything else is perfect

My daughters went to Gateway at Polk State for one school year and switched back to their regular school. We thought it would be great for them to work towards their AA degree but the professionalism, communication, and care lacks tremendously with the principal and counselor that was supposed to help them integrate into this environment. It is a good idea in theory but the one running the school are not the correct fit. They could care less about these high school students taking on college courses. Unless they get new administration stay away!

Personally, I can’t walk around at school in the early morning. From the hours from 8:00-10:30 it smells horrendous at school. All around the outside of the buildings and sometimes even in the parking lot the smell of feces and diarrhea infiltrates my nose. It’s disgusting. It drives me to dry heaving. Words cannot describe this smell. I am not alone. Many other students report this odor too. It honestly makes me rethink the cleanliness of the air in addition to the cleanliness of the school.

Better off going to HCC or another college. Financial aid and the registrar office are never no help. They don’t answer phone calls nor respond to emails. My last semester with this institution for sure.
