We chose Poter Electric after interviewing 3 solar contractors since the owner is a Master electrician and we wanted a one of the best solar solutions “Franklin aGate/aPower”.
We installed the Franklin aGate with 2 batteries (apower) giving us about 26Kw of battery storage. Our system pulls solar off of 39 solar panels & stores the power in the two batteries and pushes any excess to the grid for reimbursement from our utility. We also have a generator that runs if the batteries are depleted and the grid is down. The aGate even allows the generator to charge the batteries when the grid goes down and then shuts off (the generator); when the batteries deplete, it turns the generator back on…
The system runs flawlessly! We love it. Porter was awesome! There is a huge difference between hiring a master electrician to do this work vs. some solar company that contracts out an electrician. It was clear the “other companies” did not really understand technically how these systems worked. Porter ran electrical lines to our detached garage and to our generator. They even added a bypass switch just in case the system ever failed in 15 to 25years so we could bypass the entire system and run off the grid (just in case).
Franklin is probably the best system in the market, and Porter Electric is freaking awesome! Easy to work with and there every step of the way!

My new Solar system is up and running as of this morning! It looks great and the install was very tidy. The team was very professional and you had the best price around. And the best part was there was no middle-men to deal with and the whole thing was very low-pressue with all of my questions answered. And the best part is I was able to support a local business. I highly recommend doing your research before opting for those high-pressure national solar companies. Go with Porter.

Responsive, friendly, and very professional. It was hard to obtain the parts due to high demand, but once that happened, Chris and his team did an outstanding job installing the batteries at our home. Accommodating the picky town inspections, requirements, and procedures was also something they handled gracefully. We highly recommend Porter Electrical for installing Tesla batteries.

We had Porter electrical contractors work on our rental building. They installed new breaker panels a new meter outside and ran all the electrical up the side wall. They did an amazing job. It looks great very professional easy to work with. Definitely would use them again.

I can't give enough positive feedback from my experience working with Chris Porter / Porter Electrical Contracting. I had been debating a solar array for a few years and contacted every dedicated solar company in NH and a couple outside the area to learn what I didn't know and educate myself on the process. Some were very "sales-y" others were pretty matter-of-fact, but I still got the "sales" vibe from most of them. When I called Porter, I had a very frank conversation with Chris about what I was hoping to accomplish and he was more than willing to take on the task. We ended up going with a HUGE 108 panel array and again I can't say more about how well the install went, and how satisfied I am with the outcome. Don't hesitate to contact, they are very down to earth and easy to work with!
